Kevin, You know from your forums that I want one of these as soon as available. I've been waiting since the day I bought my G35 :-). I am hoping that there will also be good information from folks here (and even pictures) on the install steps. I know some soldering is involved (which I've done before) but I do want to make sure I do it right the first time :-)

And if you're in So Calif., I'll bet there are many who would pay you a few bucks to install for them rather than do it themselves.

I could probably work something out to do installs.

Just a heads up - there are two identical plugs behind the meda box (the big silver thing).

One connects to the Unified meter and A/C amp (the white plastic thing on top of the media box) and the other plugs in to the media box. PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION to not cross them. It is pretty obvious which one goes where based on the amount of wire available, but if you don't know that there are two and just start plugging things in it is very easy to get them backwards (I know this from personal experiance).

Thought I'd add an updated report on the testing:

Good news: All is working perfect, havn't had a single issue. I am actually a little surprised how often I'm using the bypass... I thought I'd use it only a few times a month... but I am finding that I use it a few times a week. No wonder the lockout erk'd me so much!

Bad News: NONE AT ALL!!!

Thanks again Kevin!

Do you have sufficient supply to take new orders in the relatively near future?

It will be about two weeks before the parts get here. At that time we'll start taking orders.

I've installed my modules, and a quick heads up here.

Page 2 of the directions state that Pin 86 of the SPDT relay is to be connected to the GREEN wire on the KPTech module. this is incorrect, as it should be connected to the YELLOW of the KPTech module per your pictures. also note: page 2's diagram of the relay shows Pin 86 on the left and 85 on the right (incorrect), but page 4's diagram shows the oposite (correct).

asside from this little snag (as in, i connected it the incorrect way and fixed it after looking closer at your pics), it took about 2.5 hours total as i took my time, taped up all connections and used butt splices where possible.

functionality is perfect. i need to adjust the time delay for the initial OK press as it's waiting about 10 seconds, this can be dropped to about 5. FULL nav input while in motion works wonderfully, and the NAV only takes 3-6 seconds to sync back up most of the time.

Bonus info: on the same harness that you splice into for VSS, +12VDC, and GND, the ORANGE wire is the camera activated signal.

question; is the purpose of the camera signal into the KPTech module to delay the initial input of OK to the NAV upon startup? meaning, if i put the car into reverse before the time delay for pressing OK, that the module will wait till the car is out of reverse to press OK?

That is the exact function of the reverse signal!

Pin 85 and 86 are completely interchangable, so, technically, both digrams are correct, although, for simplicity, we should only use one.

Have you posted on myg37.com?

I installed the beta module into my buddies 2008 G37S... No problems what so ever, installed it in an hour and a half the same way I did mine (using the G35 instructions). All works great, he has the reverse camera which I do not and that works fine also. On a side note there is so much more room in the shifter area of the coupe's due to no A/C vent tubes, so plenty of spots to put the module.

i haven't posted on myg37 yet. i need to tread lightly with "nav bypass" as the mods are pretty twitchy there.

I think the same policies are in affect over here ... no discussion about VIDEO on the move. You should be good to post over there.

Yes, I would agree. As long as you don't mention any modifications that would allow video to be displayed on the front screen while moving there shouldn't be any issues. Since this module doesn't allow video they shouldn't have a problem with it.

If there is enough interest over there KPtechnologies will have to look in to sponsoring them, too.
