No problem, take your time! I appreciate that you are even making a module & letting us help test it!

I got the jig done last night, the pieces look pretty good. I'll try to get a complete unit or two put together tonight and take some pictures, then they will be ready to go!

Got the first two done! I didn't have much time to work on them today, they only take a few minutes a piece to finish up, so I'll have the other 6 or so done in no time at all.

Kevin,

I have looked at your web site, looked at the forum and at the direction sheet. Even though I am an engineer with plenty of soldering experience I wouldn't want to take a chance of messing up my car. However, I would like to both bypass the OK at start-up and be able to use all functions while driving. Therefore, I would like to make a helpful suggestion. If you added both a female and male connector that could be inserted between the original male/female connectors you could accomplish all of the proper connections with no soldering required and eliminate any chance the user will cut the wrong wire or make an improper connection. It would only add a little to the cost and if other vehicles required slightly different configurations you could make custom harnesses for those vehicles but the installation procedure/process would be the same. What do you think?

I think you are referring to the connector in post 21? If so, my guess is it is Nissan proprietary. It would be cost prohibitive to make a mold for both ends unless the volume was up.

Yes, the connector in post 21. I doubt that it is proprietary since the navigation unit is probably not made by Nissan but by some third party company. In all likelihood they use some standard connector part that can be ordered from a company that makes connectors. It is probably an x pin standard connector made by one of the many connector companies. If you know who makes the navigation unit and can find the parts list you can probably find the exact connector. A quick search on the Internet brings up a host of companies..
