Aux input jacks for use with iPod

I tired to play an ipod in the car (first time) via the AUX selection, thinking I could simply use a standard cable as I do in the house ( 3.5mm to RCA)...but it didnt work. What am I missing??

Works fine on my '07

That's exactly what I use...it shouldn't be a problem. Are the RCA jacks connected properly red/red white/white? Are they securely fitted into the jack?

FYI I always turn the IPod volume up to the maximum level and control the audio volume by the car (dashboard or steering wheel). Try that.

At the time, theiPod owenr was in the back seat..when it didn;y work, I used the FM transmtter which worked fine.

As it should ahve worked, I just tried it again with my own iPod ; volume was low (perhaps that was the issue); I cranked it up and all is fine.

Thanks for the sanity checks!

Still love this car !!

You'll find that using a data cable that plugs into the wide flat port will provide much beter sound quality than using the headphone jack.

At least, that's what I've found with my ipod touch.

What kind of data cable are you referring to?

You can play video from the headphone jack. that is currently what i am doing with my iPhone. THere is a setting you have to change but it works perfectly. I can't remember the setting right now though. I will look tonight when I get home if you want.

you can play video through the 3.5mm if you have the right one. On a standard stereo 3.5mm plug you will notice 2 different levels or divisions on the actual metal plug. The ones with video will have 3, one for left speaker, one for right speaker, and one for video.

Not just any 3.5mm to rca cable will do it needs to be specifically for transmitting video as well

Aux input failure. Please advise

2007 Infiniti g35x, no navigation package, just auxiliary input in console.

For quite some time I listened to pandora on my phone via my aux cord. I would routinely plug my phone in with the headphone jack. The cord led into the RCA inputs just like normal. I even was able to just plug my phone into the cigarette lighter directly under the radio.

Then one day it stopped working. After painstakingly inspecting all fuses and verifying my components/chords all worked using another stereo... I'm baffled. It still won't work.

Please advise.
