Iphone 3G bluetooth?
I dont get the echo. But the people i call say the quality is not good as my old phone.. But the phone does connect automatically every single time and althugh that non supported message is annoying, the Ipod integration works like a charm..
My 1st gen iPhone works perfectly - charging, Bluetooth, iPod. I considered upgrading to a 3G, but now that the 3.0 firmware is due this Summer there is rumor of new hardware as well. I think I'll wait.
As of today, the latest version is 2.2.1. It's been a relative "while" since it's been out. Version 3 will likely appear concurrently with the release of the iPhone 3.0 possibly in June. Depending on the release of the next iPhone, I don't expect any further firmware updates between now and then. I've experienced no Bluetooth quality or connection issues with my iPhone "1.0" running the latest firmware. I skipped over the iPhone 2.0 because I didn't see a sufficient number of advantages to justify the expense. I'll most likely be buying a 3.0 in the next few months. Hopefully it will work as well as my "old" iPhone has with my G.
FWIW, I'm running the iPhone 3G with 3.0 firmware (yes, beta) with no call quality issues whatsoever. That being said, I didn't have any issues with the 2.2.1 FW, and I can't say that it is markedly different than now.
If anything, the phone is a lot better making sure the call is routed to the car, where as the 2.2.1 software would keep the call on the handset sometimes.

I wish I had the iPod interface in my '07...still can't find any threads if anyone installed it or got a new headunit with it or anything though - did everyone pretty much determine this to be a lost cause?
There was a thread here when the 08's first came out.
If you want to go through all the hassle, you can replace the center console and wiring.
It's compatible with out head unit, from what I remember reading in the thread.
