Question Sat radio and Backup Cam questions

The 07 G35 S w/Premium package I bought doesn't have nav or sat radio options.

1. I would like to add XM so that it can be controlled with the steering wheel and factory radio ***** (I don't want to mount a seperate XM reciever on the dash like this... http://www.myradiostore.com/xm-radio...vers/onyx.html)

How do I do this???

2. What is the best way to install a backup camera in my new ride?

Ay information and links would be great! Thanks for your help!

I just got finished reading several threads about this and I'm a little confused. I would like to add XM sat radio, backup camera, and ipod integration.

-Is there a certain order I must do this in? Would I be better off adding it all at the same time? Do you have links to what I need to buy?

Thanks guys!

I think you guys are in for a big suprise. Those additions will cost a fortune and it's probably not worth your time. From the post's I've read in the past this, those are not easy "add-on's" and can be quite expensive for the most part.

Yeah, I say you just return the car and get one with the options already installed.

okay, as that is ridiculous, I think you should know that trying to install those three things to integrate seamlessly might also be.

Its not that difficult. And doing it yourself can save you money.
Get a Infiniti G35 Factory Satellite Radio Kit - XM or Sirius for $290

Get the Nissan iPod kit from G35parts.com for $190.
Both are plug and play (no wire cutting) and can be installed in 30min.
See this thread for the iPod. https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...ml#post2812370

Here is another new iPod kit available as well. https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-aud...s-non-nav.html

A "factory-like" rear camera will be more difficult and costly. Many guys on here have opted to go with some type of a license plate frame with built-in camera and simply connect it to the AUX video-in, in the armrest. This can be done for much less than $100. Then you simply select the AUX on the radio control panel when you are reversing.
You can even hook up a Garmin GVN53 to the AUX video-in for a nice GPS on the factory LCD. https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-aud...ternative.html

All of the above can be done for well under $1000. It's not as nicely integrated as factory but then again it costs much less. When I bought my 07 G35x these options where nearly $4000 (Can) and I couldn't order one without the other and iPod integration was no option at all.

I am pretty sure this has been covered before but just to confirm there is no way to integrate the ipod into the factory system? i.e. have the artist and songs come up into the factory screen. One of my co-workers just picked up one of the new maxima's and the ability to do so made me envious.

Oh, it doesn't have the album or song name on the screen???? That sucks!!!

What does the screen have on it while playing the ipod?

Guys, read the posts and look at the pictures.
You don't use AUX for the iPod. You use SAT which becomes a function of the Radio AM/FM button when you hook a device into the SAT harness in your trunk.
Yes you can chose artists, album etc. and you can see the name of the Artist and song title on the screen while it is playing.
Here is the picture (again) from my 07 G35x SEDAN

but doesn't that hookup method negate the ability to also have satellite radio?

No. You can have both through one SAT harness but obviously only play one at a time.

so, how do you decide between SAT and IPod if both are controlled by the same button and display as XM?

You will have to have the iPod unplugged from the iPod harness. The integration kit is designed to over ride your satellite radio.
I keep the iPod in the armrest so its easy to get at.
Please look at and read the links I put in the post #5 above. All of these questions are answered there.
Good luck.
