Change my front tires, ouch what a gap!

Were running 245/45/18 all around my sport model. I just change to 225/45 in front because Toyo does not make 225/50. Wheel gap is big! and the car looks very low in front (The car looks like a dragster ). The steering is ok and lane changes made at high speed are very stable. My concern is some holes and bumps. I will get a photo tomorow for you to see.

Merry Christmas to all

Why did you change from 245/45 all around? Is your downsized tire that noticeable it should only give you .3" more gap than the 245 and your front end will only sit .3" lower.

Why didn't you change the profile? going from 245/45 to 225/45 is going to f with all sorts of things (traction control, speedometer, odometer, abs, etc.).

You now have a lower profile tire on there (it's shorter). Your car will feel peppier, but you'll have less traction.

225/50/18 would have been closer to stock.

The steering was very heavy and Toyo does not run 225/50/18. Maybe 235/45/18 is better.

the steering is heavy so you swap tires?

Any why do you have to stick with Toyo? There are lots of other good tire companies out there.

Wow yours felt heavy. I was running 255s all around now I am now with 245/45/18 all around and both sizes felt real good on the steering.

I use Toyo cause the price. If you can suggest any other tire more sticky maybe next time I can change.

may not be the most recent article but defintely proves my experience with toyos.

In fact, the Proxes never placed higher than eighth in any test, and in two dry tests, the autocross and the skidpad, the Toyo finished last, trailing the top finishers by significant margins. In some tests it felt better than it actually was performing, but overall, Geswein noted it was "soft and imprecise" and didn't "feel like a sport tire."
dead last on both autox and skid pad

Maybe cause your rims are the same width, my car is the S model that have 7.5 inch in front and 8.5 inch in rear.

If you want a cheap sporting tire, look at Falken FK452. I run Dunlop Direzza Star Specs. They are *really* good.

The Toyo is typically heavier than a stock tire, wider than the nominal width, and have squishy sidewalls that make them not as good performance wise as you'd think.

This is unfortunate since I put toyos on both of my last cars and thought they were good (that is until I realized that they were not good).

Yes you are right that probably does make a big difference.

just wanna check..what if you put 245/45/18 all around in G35s..what are the disadvantages??

one more thing..i just noticed that my rear tyres are totally gone just after 8000 miles....how long the OEM lasts...any idea....but the car was wobbly for past few months..

it depends on how you drove them, many ppl have complained about the rear tires dying out around 10-11k on S models, i FORCED(not recommended at all) mine up to 18k, but it worked out because we didnt have too bad winters or rain.
