If the ride is floaty...

Is that a function of the shocks, or the springs?

The G is a bit odd to me, at times it feels rather planted, but there are other times when it starts feeling floaty. I don't believe the shocks are bad, at least from the last time i checked down there.

If it happened over time, then I'd say the shocks may have worn. If the car was like that from day one, then both could cause that feeling. Do you have the sport pkg? What tires? Stock or something else? Going to a different (inferior) tire can totally make the ride more floaty feeling.

I'm the second owner, had it for about 10k miles now. It was fine until just this past week. I've had the aftermarket tires for the past 5k. Hmm...

Mike, I'd say tires; check your tire pressure, and look at the wear. We're in that weird Houston weather when temps cycle up and down, and pressure doesn't stay constant - at your mileage, I'd guess it's that vs. suspension.

Thanks, guys. Pressure is right at 36psi on 245/40/19 FK425. Wear is also pretty even. I figured it could be from the temps, but then it could also be the shocks. It's a bit disconcerting at times.

Definitely shocks. Possibly tires. Probably not springs.

Springs wouldn't go bad, especially at your mileage rate (what is your total mileage now?). If you can easily depress the trunk/engine bay portion of your by pushing down with your hands, it's probably the shocks that are bad.
