Hey Adrian can you do me a favour? and measure the ground clearance from the ground to the mud flap right behind the front wheel well?

I believe this is the lowest part of the G.

With eibachs, you get 4 inches of clearance. I wonder what it is with your springs.

Thanks Adrian! much appreciated.

Im still boggled by the fact that though your springs are F 1.0 and R 1.3

That it comes out even all around.

Yeah, something is definitely off with Tanabe's numbers for the NF210 sedan fitment. They list the same springs for the G37 coupe, yet they only drop it 1.0" (F) & 0.7" (R). There can't be 0.6" difference between the rear drop on the two cars using the same springs. When I talked to Eibach about using their G37 coupe springs on my sedan, they said they had already done it on a few other cars and it would drop the sedan apx 1.2" (F) & 1.0" (R), which is only 0.2" more in the rear than the rated drop for the same springs on the G37 coupe. This means the NF210's should actually be closer to a 1.0" (F) & 0.9" (R), which is almost exactly what I ended up with. I actually saw just under 1.0" drop at all four corners... close to .95" up front and just under that in the rear.

Very interesting...

An inch drop all around is perfect for me Adrian. Thats really what I need... and what I want. Maybe if I order from Rick, if for whatever reason, it doesnt end up like your height, I'll make him promise me he'll take it back. haha

Oh you actually found out about the G37 coupe springs for our sedans? I actually started a thread on this!

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-bra...r-0-8-a-3.html

Im gonna cut and paste what you wrote and add it on that thread.

Also, chime in if you could! Im sure the other G drivers would appreciate it. If your certain thats the drop for the eibach springs, I will consider that drop.

Ok, I just went and measured the height of the left front mud guard and came up with just a hair under 4-1/2". I also took several other measurements along the left side of the car, so you can get a better idea of how the car sits. As you can see from the pics below, the car is at ~4-1/2" just behind the LF wheel, ~ 6" under the driver's side front door sill, ~6-1/8" just ahead of the LR wheel, and ~7" under the LR mud guard.

Here are a couple of pics showing the front and rear gaps, as well as the height from the top of the wheels' center caps to the top of the fenderwells for the LF and LR. The exact measurements are as follows:

>>>>>Stock>>>>>>Tanabe>>>>>Total Drop
LF:>>14-1/4">>>>>>13-1/4">>>>>>1"
LR:>>13-15/16">>>>>>13">>>>>>15/16"

Here are a couple of pics of the car with the Tanabe's installed the first pic was taked a few days after I installed them and the second pics was taken today (about 6 months and 5K miles after the original install). As you can see the springs settled in just a little bit more, but the rear doesn't sag at all... the car still sits nice and level.

Yeah, those worked out very well on your ride. Looks very, very nice.
Unfortunately, the guys with X's have not had similar results.

^Thanks. I'm very happy with it, but I think it's time for some coilovers.

I think the issue with most of the other installs is that serveral of the guys I talked to were actually using the Tanabe NF210 part number for the 1st gen cars. The springs for the second gen cars weren't released until December 2008, so if they installed before then, then they had different springs.

Thanks Adrian. You did more than I asked you too. That was really nice of you. So these springs give about 1/2" front clearance more than Eibachs. Not bad. The drop is similiar to the 370z drop.

About the springs on X's...

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-37-...-too-pics.html

This guy installed his in May and still ended up with the same saggy bum. Hmmmmmm.... He seems pretty certain that he got the new springs.

I dunno what to think. lol

Yeah, that's quite odd. Did you notice the post by cmo23, where he said that he didn't have the sagging rear issue with the Tenabe's. I wonder if it's there quality control, or maybe something is different with the x suspension. There is also another G35S sedan running these same Tanabe's out here and he ended up with almost the exact same drop as me. What's really odd is that Eibach claims that their springs offer the same drop on the X as the non X cars, so why would these be any different?

Thanks, Wes... Stunning is a big word when your talking about cars, so I take that as a HUGE compliment. I'm definitely trying to keep the car as clean as possible while still giving it that "custom" look.
