Brake Caliper Torque Specs
I can't honestly say that I have worked on the brakes before but that is what the document says.
It does seem a little high even though the metric numbers agree. Don't know. Did it seem that tight when you took it off?
Anyone out there work on your brake calipers? Is 98 ft-lb look correct for the main bolts?

That's just it. I did my rear pads about 2 weeks ago and it was a breeze.
Last Wednesday, the dealer replaced all four rotors under warranty.
Today, I went to do my front pads but can't get the calipers off. I haven't gotten an impact gun yet, so I'm on these with a 1/2" drive ratchet... Beating the handle with a hammer, and they won't break free.
I hate my dealer. They don't have a clue what a torque wrench is.

I would definitely try one of these before you go to an impact gun. The length of the handle makes it cumbersome to use but, man, the torque you can apply is unbelievable. Just make sure to seat the socket fully or you can strip the nut because of the force.

You could apply twice the torque with a 18" wrench that you could with a 9" wrench without having to apply any more force.
You could also try Home Depot or Lowes.
Also, penetrating lubricant and some taps with a hammer and a few hours could help.

Yeah, I know. The problem with one of those (I call it a breaker bar) is that there just not enough room in the wheel well for one.
I bought a piece of crap 1/2" drive gun tonight at Lowe's.
I plan on using it and returning it next week.
