Difference between suspension on G37 Coupe and 07+ G Sedan

The 2nd Gen G Coupes & Sedans seem to have a lot of similarities as far as the suspension goes. I know this because all the Strut Bars and the Under-Braces are direct fits on both cars. The question is, will Coilovers for the G37 Coupe fit our Sedans? I know that our Sedans are a bit lighter, so the spring rate may need to be adjusted, but will everything bolt right up? Any insight will be helpful.

Yes. The coupe spring rates are usually higher than those for the sedans, so beware of that.

So do you think everything will be good except for the spring rates? I can easily order a set of the coils with specific rates.

Past practice

Oem spring rates

2003-2005 350Z
314/342

2003-2006 G35 sedan with sport suspension
314/342

2003-2007 G35 coupe when delivered on oem 17 or 18 inch wheels
314/342

2004.5-2008 350Z (revised suspension)
314/427

2005-2007 G35 coupe when delivered on oem 19" wheels
314/427

If you want to bed the issue, send me a single front and rear oem spring, I'll get the spring rates and return the springs FedEx ground on my dime. 3 different owners have done just that in the last 3 years to get rates we'd otherwise still be wondering about.

That's interesting, as I've never seen anyone who actually knew the exact rates. Even reputable guys like Lou can only guestimate the rates when asked.

I was referring to the rates on CO's though, but who knows, they're probably close if not the same. Most of the CO's I've seen have a little stiffer rate for the coupes versus the sedan (now I wonder why after seeing the rates you posted).

Hi guys,

does anyone know what the OEM spring rates are on a base (RWD) 2007 G35 Sedan non-sport?

Thanks.

Oh an weight difference is about 50-100 pounds so any spring rate for the coupe will also work for the sedan

Thanks for replying 6mtg37s.

It still doesn't answer my question .. I've seen here on different threads
that the OEM G35 Sedan non-sport rates are F:283 R:308
but it looks like those refer to the 2006 and before; it doesn't clearly
say it whether they apply to the 2007 as well .. therefore my question.

Thx.
