New Tires - Any Suggestions?
New Tires - Any Suggestions?
I have 10 months left on my lease and need new tires now. Any suggestions for good affordable tires? I don't want to spend a fortune with limited ride time remaining.
Firestone quoted me $737 installed on Firehawk GT's. Tirerack has Kumho Solus' for $550 shipped, but the speed rating is V not W - is that a deal killer?
Any other suggestions? I'm running 225/50R18 and 245/45R18 in a hot but rainy environment (no snow).
Thanks in advance for your help!

I recently got myself Falken 452s and I absolutely love them. I researched for a while and they seemed like the best tires for my need. They're quiet, the adherence is great, and they aren't that pricy.
i thought a lease entails that you have to return the car with all OEM equipment that came with it when you started the lease, including the tires. But if not, I recommend Kumho Ecsta Platinum LX tires, I got them for $850 out the door.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Infiniti will accept a lease return with tires that have good tread life left and are of equivalent quality to the OEM equipment (Bridgestone Potenza's in my case). It's fairly subjective though. Also, the tires must match.
Thanks for the tips so far, I'll look into the Falken's and check if I can get the Ecsta's for any cheaper. It sounds like the FS GT's are about as affordable as tires come.
Any other suggestions on low priced tires? Anything bad about the FS GT's?

That's what I got. 734 bucks from tirerack and then another 150 or so to the installer for mount, balance, and align.
Well, after nearly a dozen estimates I experienced some dumb luck at Firestone. A second location quoted me $512 out the door for Firestone Firehawk GT's. They were having a Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale and I'm positive the manager gave me Buy 1 Get 1 Free for the fronts and then another Buy 1 Get 1 Free for the rears. So basically Buy 2 Get 2 Free, even though the store sign said Buy 1 Get 1 at 50% Off. So strange, I even asked him if it was right and he said yes. $512 out the door was about $200-300 lower than anywhere else so I got em installed this morning. I honestly can't believe the deal, first of all, and how much better they ride and sound than my OEM Potenza's, second of all. Truly night and day for the better. Just thought I'd share my story if it helps anyone out there.

I guess it's too late now, but in case anyone else is in the same situation, you could buy used tires from Discount Tire or another local tire shop. I bought two 17's for my previous car for $25/piece.
