Ok, guys, the RacingBrake front rotors and Akebono calipers are finally installed. Please note that these rotors are only for cars equiped with Akebono calipers (i.e. G37S coupe and sedan or G35's that have upgraded to the Akebono BBK's).

I've already posted these pics on another thread, but figured I'd update this thread as well.

I plan to do a full review with driving impressions once I get some miles on the new brakes.

Thanks again to Mike Lin @ RacingBrake for making this happen... Now we need matching rear rotors!

Akebono Brakes finally installed!! Will post some driving impressions once I get a few more miles on them.

Thanks, guys! There's now a fe of us with these rotors on our cars. Plus, RacingBrake should be getting their next shipment within the next 4 - 6 weeks, so there will be many more G's out there sporting RacingBrake rotors soon.

I know what you mean, and the close up shots don't do the IP calipers justice... they really pop from a distance! I'll post up some more pics of the whole car later this week.

Thanks guys!!

The RB 2-Pc front rotors weigh in at just over 20 lbs, compared to the stock rotors that weigh 30 lbs... That almost 10 lbs of unsprung weight saved per corner!

Nice, I'm just trying to figure out how much I'll be charged for shipping

Do u know if they sell them separately from the kit?

Maz,
If you're referring to the RB rotors, they're a totally different company and you have to order them aside from the oem brake parts.

If not, then nevermind lol

Are you going to order the entire kit from Riverside Infiniti, Maz? If so, I'm sure Rick will give you a great deal on the entire kit along with the RB rotors. I know he's got 4 sets of the rotors coming in next month.

Either way, you can buy the RB rotors separately. Riverside will probably have the best price on them, or you can order them directly from Racing Brake. If you haven't bought the complete brake kit yet, then your probably better off buying them all together... that way your not paying for stock front rotors that your never going to use.

My idea is to buy Akebono calipers from the US since they're more than $1000 cheaper than getting them from the local stealership, but to save on shipping i'll get stock rotors from here, the price for the rotors is the same, and i think Maz is doing the same, i'm fine with stock rotors and Hawk ceramic pads or Project Mu pads.

I dunno after seeing these babies I wanna get them, even more for the weight reduction, I'm just trying to estimate the shipping cost and if it's worth it.

and I've already got the Akebono calipers with the brake lines, and OEM pads. No rotors yet

You got that right, Maz! The weight reduction alone is worth the cost of admission.

Check with Rick @ Riverside and see what kind of deal he can give you on the rotors. Also, maybe check with Mike Lin at RacingBrake and see if they have any dealers for their products out your way. If you're going to go with a BBK, you mine as well do it right the first time!

Thanks dude, will update you guys if I do get any

Damn just checked with RB they sell the rotors for $430 EACH???? that's crazy lol

and when you said they weight 19lbs you meant each weight 19lbs right? lol so that's like 80lbs for all 4

With these kind of prices I'm not sure anymore, if it was $430 for the front set then ok I can just about swallow it, but $400 for each is a bit steep for me right now. Do you think Rick would offer a more competitive price?

Also does anyone have any experience with DBA, Disc Brakes Australia? ---> http://www.dba.com.au/node/5538 a work colleague suggested them to me as an alternative to the RB ones. Any have any experience or heard anything about them?

Yep, those are the weights for each front disc. There is currently no rear 2pc disc available. After much deliberation, i don't think there's much to gain (or lose) with a 2pc rear rotor weight-wise though. It is not that heavy to begin with and although i didn't weigh it, it didn't feel any heavier than the standard S (non-Ake) rotors.

If it's any consolation, there's another vendor on here that's saying they just received prototypes for F+R 2pc rotors which they will initially sell as a kit with the whole Akebono set-up.
