Tire Replacement 2008 G35 Sport

Well, I think the speedo error is actually one of the lesser concerns I see for this setup. If those fronts are indeed 45 series, the the diameter differences between front and rear are substantial; like 1.4" difference! There's no way the VDC will not go into spasms with a setup like that. If they are 40 series in the front, then the front/rear difference drops down to a more manageable 0.4", but then that just aggravates another issue you've got....
Your front rims are 7.5" wide, but . . .
The rim width range for a 255/45 = 8.0" - 9.5", with a "normal" width of 8.5".
The rim width range for a 255/40 = 8.0" - 10.0", with a "normal" width of 9.0".
And ...
Your rear rims are 8.5" wide, but . . .
The rim width range for a 275/35 = 9.0" - 11.0", with a "normal" width of 9.5".
SO basically, your tires are too wide for your stock rim sizes. They may fit, but not well, and certainly not for necessarily better handling than a properly sized tire (narrower) tire on the same rims. Think: "muffintops" or you might want to consider some wider wheels.
Just sayin

Ya I read all about that, but mounted them anyway. They were initially to see how big I could go with rubber, but once mounted they are a great fit. Not saying its optimum but it will do for now. Wider rims are in the future. the tires look good, a square sidewall and flat tread area...muffintopness is not a problem, and i detest stretched rubber, prefer my rubber to be wide as or wider than my rims, for rim protection i daily this and may buzz a curb now and then when this does happen i'm like honeybadger i don't give a shiz...(:
update to my surprise they are 245/45 18 in the front, not sure why i thought they were 255....mind gap lol my vdc never acts up unless i provoke it too.

I live in a large city, I parallel park once or twice a day, %99 of the time I won't hit a curb, but one day it happens and totally scratches it up. As for muffin tops, going from a v35, alot of the auto crossers ran 275/40/18 on the stock 18x8s didn't look muffin topped at all, but that all depends on tire, and wheel lip. As long as the tire is nicely squared, handling should improve due to the larger contact patch.

All other things being equal, lots of folks who track their cars (not 1/4 mile) will report faster lap times with a tire that is either just at, or slightly narrower, than the optimum for a given rim size. In this case, bigger is NOT always better. A slightly narrower tire will have less sidewall flex than the wider tire, and hence, will hold a line better. Track times don't lie.

True track times don't lie, but the bigger meats on the rear have tamed the wheel spin exiting corners, and it's tougher to get abs active under hard braking. I doubt that my car will ever see a track. I find my current tire set up to be substantially better for aggressive street use than stock.

no problem, i think i'm gonna try some 255 up front yet. i'd like to put 285 in the rear but the price jump is quite big and i am pushing it a little on these rims anyway. though i think its worth noting that mm are tiny units and while rims are measured in inches tire width is mm. if you look at a ruler 30 mm is just over an inch, so even on my rears i have only pushed the base of the tread out 15mm or approx 5/8 of an inch per side, and they don't sit as wide and fat as they would on wider rims but the meat on the ground is greater even so..... i used chalk on the corner tread to determine an appropriate air pressure.
