Hi guys just a quick question when you said:
1. Adjust the spring height FIRST.
2. after your spring ride height^ is set, adjust the damper length.
- place car on jack stands
- measure height to bottom of spring cup
- with a floor jack raise the spring cup 10mm (pre-load)
- adjust the damper length to fit this position.

so when you adjust the spring height do you lower the car on ground with or without the damper??

how do you guys know when to reuse to top rear spring mount?

i have function form type 2 and ive seen pictures of both rear mount and with out?

im confused

EDIT:

not looking to slam my car either, jsut 1 finger gap all the way around

Thanks for the clear DIY OP, can't wait to install mine this weekend. With the pillow-ball top plates should make this much easier than changing out my lowering springs

No the damper should already be installed on the vehicle by then.

nice write up. and to my understanding i jack up the spring cup until the spring has no more play then another 10mm up? then i adjust the strut to that exact position?

correct
Just remember to preload it again if you have to do any height adjustments back there.

thanks! i did it wrong before and just kept jacking it up to meet the strut lol

having a hard time with the fronts. will a spring compressor make it easier?

How much different is doing this install on a 2003 year? I'm gonna do this for a buddy and this write up is great, just want to know what will be different since his is 03. Thanks.

Why not just go to the appropriate forum section for that car (ie. the V35 first gen sections) and do a simple search there. There's got to be tons of DIY info posted on a 10 year old car.
