Is this the same DIY for the coupe as well? Same part #s and all?

Those things are $50. Im not hainvg any luck now with the CEL. It took sometime for it to come on, now it just wont go away. the nest step is to pack with steel wool, or get a hold to a scanner and see which o2 sensor is throwing the code, swap sides and replace the bad sensor if it follows the sensor. I need a scanner that can at least tell me which bank.

 

Just to be sure, I should be defouling the second o2 sensor right? My codes read P1273, P1283, running lean on sensors 1, which are BEFORE the cat. Do I need to defoul the first o2 sensors? Ive defouled the after cat sensors with no luck, Im not on my second set of defoulers and no light yet, but it still smells like an improper mixture. With the extra velocity perhaps its tripping the first sensors? If you look at this list, I see no lean/rich code for the secondary sensors.

Thread revival. I did this on my Jeep when the cats started to die and it initially didn't work, however when I tried the steel wool in between the fittings it worked. The steel wool holds the heat there and balances out the temperature fluctuations better. That was almost a year ago that I put it in and the light didn't pop at all from then until my transmission died in november.

JKL1031. From what I understand (and I could very well be wrong) when these engines are started they dump a little extra fuel for the first few seconds to burn in the cats to get them up to operating temp quicker, this very well could be the fuel smell you are getting, since it obviously isn't burning in the cats. Again, I am by no means an expert on this, and could be completely wrong.
