DIY: Clutch Fix #2 - Oh what a feeling :)
No. the two mods are independent of one another. As i recall, the first mod is one to reduce excess pedal travel.
I have done both mods. I actually did spring mod first, then reduced pedal travel with shims behind stops (I used 4-5 pennies taped together with two side tape as temporary shims to see how I liked it and. well, they are still there today, a year or so later.

I did it today and really like the feel compared to stock. The only thing that stands out to me is that it feels like the clutch engagement area within the stroke of the pedal is in the last 20% of the pedal stroke.
this mod should not affect the engagement area at all but would only make it easier to push in and out, as is stock the G's have a really high(from floor) engagement point than most cars, i like it when changing gears quickly.
For the people who are complaining about the play when the clutch is fully released there are two quick fixes. If you look up above the clutch pedal you'll notice a white rubber stopper that is supposed to be snug to a black switch above (just wiggle the clutch and you'll see where these parts are). The switch is the ASCD clutch switch and its function is to disengage the cruise control once the clutch is depressed to prevent overreving of the motor.
1) There is a nut you can loosed on the threaded part of the switch and then adjust the sensor so it snugs up to the stopper. Once the switch is in the proper spot you just snug up the nut you first loosened. (proper way)
2) Add 1/16" piece of material (rubber shim/penny/whatever) to the existing factory white rubber stopper with double sided tape. (jimmy rigging way)
Both of these are doing the same thing in theory. Best/fasted mod for this car. Enjoy!!!!

Ok i have a 06 coupe mt and i just dont understand how this is done i can barely see the spring and i dont understand where u put these pennies im sick of driving like a idiot when i knew it wasnt me i have drivin mt cars for ten years straight never had this problem please help
Well this DIY is specifically for the 2nd gen Gs (2007+) so that could be why you cant see the spring, might be a different design or location. Search on google for a similar DIY for 1st gen Gs or post some pics of the clutch area and maybe we can help spot the spring assembly if it has one. On the side not even with the spring the car is not hard to drive but requires a smoother foot movement for 1st gear which this mod fixes, rest is the same with or without spring for me.
Does anybody know what size wrench you need to adjust the clutch rod?? I want to move my clutch pedal up a little bit to bring down the engagement point a little bit. The engagement point on mine is like right at the top of the pedal after doing this mod.
