"service engine soon"

I recenlty had Berk HFC and a Stillen cat-back exhaust installed. The light went on and I brought it into the dealer - they erased the code, fauilty cat. Everything was fine, then this morning back on.

Is there a way to completely erase the code - or is it possible that the Berk's are really bad, even though they are just high-flow???

The HFC's are probably throwing codes on your rear o2 sensors. That can happen with some cars.

You can tune the code completely out. But, there goes your warranty if they ever scan your computer again. And, you have to pay the $$ for the tuen.

Another option that some people do on other cars is o2 simulators for the rear o2 sensors. The rear o2's have nothing to do with your tune, they're just there for emissions purposes. They were around $150 for my last car.

Another possible problem is an exhaust leak. Those can kill cats quickly.

This light came on as well for me. But i do not have any mods on my car. Is it just letting me know its time for an oil change? I only have 3.5K Miles. I already got an oil change, does anyone know how to get rid of this light? I know other cars have a way to reset it manually without having to go to the dealership. Any help is appreciated.

It's not for an oil change.

SES lights typically are for emissions related problems (like bad o2 sensors).

Go to Autozone. They should be able to scan your engine on the spot. (for free)

But, you're going to need to go to the dealership to fix whatever made the light go off either way.

You can reset it (at autozone)...... it'll come back.
