Stillen Gen 3 Intake Pics and Vids
I do like this intake but the only problem i see is having two intakes right behind the grill and taking in water.
the other issue is that the power these make is only above 7k. so how much of this is useful power? about 6-8 hundred rpm worth it looks like.
not trying to bash them, i am just sharing my .02cents/

I can't see water getting into it being a problem. With the speed of the car, the angle of the rain coming down plus the block and filter along with the actual grill - doesn't seem likely. Someone said before the only real problem would be if you decided to spray a hose right directly into the grill.

To which part of my statement are you referring too?
I will answer both:
1st I can see the filters through the front of the car. i do alot of driving and with heavy rain water locking my motor wouldnt be covered under warranty.
2nd. I looked at the dyno results from the g37 and concluded that our motor producing less hp, would prolly have close to the same power curve and only notice resulting on the top end.

Yup. Most of the gains are at the very highest rpms. Not as useful for daily driving. I think though that most get intakes for sound first and performance second. Still, 13hp (if true) is a lot compared to other intakes.
Nah. Remove the radiator shroud and the filters are right there. Certainly better than having to go through the wheel well or something like that.
wow now these intakes have screwed everything up for me. I was going to get the Injen but seeing how Stillen is claiming a 10-13hp increase at the wheels sounds crazy. Does anyone have a dyno graph before/after the installation? Because this is the first time I hear of a NA engine gaining soo much power from just an intake. Any idea if the torque changed at all?
so does anyone have an actual dyno run showing a 10-13hp increase from just an Intake upgrade? Because the Injen ones have a dyno plot showing slight power increase but I'm a bit unsure that we'll get even 10hp from these.
