It appears to be at 800 on your dash, you could be in the 900's or even 700's these analog gauges are VERY inaccurate.

Fully warmed up with all accessories and A/C off it's 650rpm +/- 50rpm.
With A/C and accessories on it can go all the way up to 800-900rpm.

Cold start is anywhere between 1400-2000rpm depending on ambient temp.

UPDATES: I just got the car from the dealership today, they were fixing the IDLE RPM and car shake problem, they have done the following:

- Clean Throttle Body
- Replaced Sparkplugs
- Replaced Idle Sensor
- Replaced Chamber throttle
- Replaced Gas Padel
- Clean Air-intake
- Idle relearn

I drove the car for some time, stopped at a traffic light, and again, rpm goes down and car vibrates... are these vibrations normal ? I can feel them via the seats and steering-wheel. I dont have them in my honda and altima, which has over 100k on them, while the G35 only has 30k on it!

Is this normal guys? these vibrations?

I have that idle vibration "issue" too, but it seems to happen when the a/c condenser kicks in. Drops for a split second then goes back to normal

I was told that the exhaust valve timing (evt) sensor needs to be replaced. He said they are somewhere near the cams...(idk)The tech explained it to me, but all I got out of it was some magnets are sticking blah, blah. So they are replacing my sensors next week. I have had the issue a little over a year ago. In one of my previous post I had them clean the throttle (tb) and do the idle relearn. It seemed to go away but came back. So after picking it up today that is the verdict I got. It is my understand that this issue doesn't throw any codes so it has been difficult for them to pin point. Tell your tech to call tech support, they are starting to see a few G's with this issue.

Hope this helps, once I pick up my car I'll post the exact wording off of my invoice, cause I'm sure I got something wrong LOL.

Get a can of brake parts cleaner and start spraying hoses, check to see if you have a vaccum leak.

It's funny that people still enter this post and add new posts without doing the TB cleaning in the DIY section and stop going the dealership since they don't know what to do, i doubt if they know how the engine works.

any updates?

Hey guys, I've got the same problem it seems. I'll be driving fine, then when i step on clutch to go into neutral the rpms drop below idle sometimes causing my engine to shut off. I was getting some code about the cam postion sensors and had them replaced but the problem persists. Has anyone figured out what causes this? my mechanic seems to think it could be a timing chain issue. any updates?

^ when i had rpm drop while shifting to neutral i cleaned my TB and it worked great for me but it seems for some its more serious problem than that, but it wont hurt to start from there. There is a TB cleaning DIY in the tech section which is worth a try imo.

Ok, before replacing the evt sensor the technician called the tech line in California because he was stumped. After cleaning the throttles cleaned (twice) and replacing the auto trans temp sensor I thought I was free of the infamous idle drop issue but NO! So for the past month or so every other day I would start it and it would start fine then idle so low it would cut off. So I took it back in, the technician called the techline in California today and apparently I'm the (3rd) G with this issue. They said the solution to the problem is the intake valves...I have no idea how it is linked and should have asked but I didn't. So they ordered the intake valves today and I am suppose to take it back in next week.

This is like a big experiment in my opinion but I'm not complaining. I'm just really curious as to whether this will be the fix. Stay tuned...
