^+1 it wont be covered under warranty if you specifically go in to get your TB cleaned, but if you have an issue and THEY deem it is due to the dirty TB then it will be covered under warranty.

If you can spare 20-30mins of your time then i suggest doing it yourself and get it done for <$5(cost for crc TB cleaner) and know its done right.

Here we go...

Mine is an 07 G35S, I'm in Puerto Rico. car has 38K miles.

Problem started a few weeks back. Car would start fine. Turned off the car, Tried to turn it on again in a short time, car wouldn't start. Car would start if I pressed on the accel pedal start hitting the start button. Idle will start to fluctuate between 500 and 650 RPM. RPM's would drop so low at a Stop light that the AC stopped working. To start the AC I would have to shift the car to N and press on the accel.

Took the car to the 37,500 mile service. Dealer replaced the battery. They claimed that the battery was about to die. Computer was reset. 2 days after I picked up the car, problem came back. A week later Took the car back to the dealer, they ran some test, said the problem was that the computer programming was off. Computer was reprogramed. Car ran fine for a week. Problem came back yesterday.

Going to take the car back to the dealer next week. I'll keep you posted.

BTW I was approached at the dealer by a guy who heard me talking to the service advisior about the problem. Guy said, he's 09 Coupe has the same issue. Car has been in the dealer 4 times and they had not fixed it...

Well I just picked my car up today. Tech said the computer was throwing a code that prompted him to replace the sensor. The invoice reads: P1710 trans temp sens open, replaced automatic trans temp sensor, pan gasket and fluid and cleaned throttle bodies. Car idles perfectly! I've been driving it all day, no problems so far. Looks like the G is back!!!!
No cost which made me even happier, except for the $5 loaner recondition fee.

Hi Guys,

I have a Sedan G35 (model 2008) in Kuwait.

I am suffering from the same RPM drop problem and car shake.

I have given the dealership the car over 4 times to fix this, however it is not being fixed.

I am very disappointed and annoyed by this problem as it happens whenever the car stops and early in the morning. When I give the dealership the car, the problem goes away for only 3 or 4 days and then returns.

Quite disappointing. I've raised the issue to Infiniti Middle East.

How did you guys deal with this?

Perhaps for the 2008's

But for my car (2003) this is not the answer to this thread.

I've gotten this issue as of yesterday.

I pulled all the plugs and everything is fine with the combustion unless there is an injector sticking.

Idle has dropped at times down to 487 and then kicked back up to 560-612

I removed the connector to the MAF and the idle actually fixes itself (of course car goes into limp mode) but I believe it's either the MAF or idle air learning + increasing the idle to 700rpm at idle with A/C OFF.

I'm going to the stealership in the morning to perform all tasks needed.

Just got back from the dealer,

Plugged in the Consult and bumped the RPM to 725 (with a/c off) it was at 550-625 before. Then performed the idle air learn.

So far 35 miles and it's fine. Hopefully I will not need to bump this thread any more.

I thought the idle rpm should be at 650rpm with A/C, accessories and fans off. anyhow, let us know how it goes. I'm curious as to why it was at 550rpm though :/

No idea why it was at 550 either...

But it ranges from 750 down to 650... very happy now

750rpm is great, but a little loud if you just test-pipe and exhaust system, but it doesn't hurt to clean the TB, at least the car response better.

Cleaning the TB alone wont be a "wow" factor. Remember complete care of the engine/car is what makes it impressive.

But regardless keeping things clean makes it work in perfect harmony.
