I am not saying you can't use them, just that there have been several who have had issues with oil based filters. Some have not used the recommended oil, others may be over oiling, etc., but then there are still others who claim to be following all the proper procedures and still have problems with them.

So you may consider an alternative if you are concerned.

Hmmmm... so there are issues with the oil based filters.

Okay what other alternatives do i have? Can I change the filter to a dry one? Will it fit my intakes?

What dry filter optiones do i have?

I tested it by shaking the seat side to side: driver seat - tapping noise; passenger seat - silent.) The service rep said they out of the ~20 cars to which they applied the sensitive throttle TSB, 2 to 3 of them reported the fluctuating idle problem afterwards. BTW, I was just looking at the FSM (EC-18) and noticed that there's a procedure called "Idle Air Volume Learning" that requires the CONSULT tool. I assume that's what they're going to do.

Idle Air Volume Learning is a function of ECM to learn the idle air volume that keeps engine idle speed within the specific range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:
• Each time electric throttle control actuator or ECM is replaced.
• Idle speed or ignition timing is out of specification.
CalsonicVQ, did this fix your fluctuating idle problem? I had the sensitive throttle TSB performed last week, and the problem surfaced for the first time on my 2007. I would be nice if there was a documented solution by now.

Here's what happened to my car.

So I went to the dealer picked up my car I've been driving it around for almost a week. After cleaning out the TB, the car is running perfect NO RPM FLUCTUATING, NO RPM DROP, and NOT JERKING at all.

In my situation I guess that a dirty TB was the issue and after cleaning it, everything's back to normal.

And I have the original Intakes installed. Since the dealer took off my Gen3s, I didn’t bother to go and install them again.

Nope, the dealer performed the idle air learning on 2 separate occasions and I still have this problem.

^^^ Do you have any after market intakes ? if so remove em and take it to the dealer.

If not just take it to the dealer and ask em to check it out for you, or ask em to clean it for you

My dealer took em off and cleaned it on the warranty. However they are charging me for taking off the aftermarket intakes.

They are the two parts on the top sides of the engine where the intakes are connected to them.

Yep, its running smooth. No jerk, stall, or shaking at all dude.

Its been almost a month now since they have been cleaned and i dont have any problems.

It might be something else in your situation, but Why don't you give it a shot and try cleaning them?

You have to remove all covers, and intakes to reach them.

Regarding cleaning them, i will leave that to the experts.

Hope this helps.
