R2C Intake, Fast Intentions exhaust and Dyno tune …

1. R2C intake was developed of my car and I guess I am the first person to have one installed. R2C is an awesome company to deal with. Product is of superior quality, filters are washable with detergent, no oiling required. You can see on the pictures the quality of the intake pipes. Paul from R2C even came out on Sunday to help me install it.
2. Installed Fast Intentions exhaust, also superior quality. I did buy it due to the fact that it is supposed to be pretty quiet and no highway drone. Impressions: It is a little loud for my taste; however, the sound got better after 100 miles. The middle silencer is Magnaflow, at least that is what it says on it and the tips are Sebring.
3. Dyno tune. Unfortunately I could not get a dyno run before everything was installed. So what you see on the dyno graph is after intake and exhaust were installed. Base run and after UpRev Tuning perfomed on Dynopack dyno at GRD (Genesis Racing development in Villa Park IL). It is solid 10HP and 5TQ gain just from the tune.

how much power are you running with everything? im pretty sure you gained more than 10 HP with all that stuff.

good results. you didn't gain all that much in the mid range, but up top after 6000 rpm, you have some solid gains. you added a good 10whp at 6250 rpm, and that carries all the way till rev limit, where you added even more. same goes with the wtq. you should feel a huge difference on the highway in the high rpms. if you had HFC you would have done even better. the cats are the real choker in your exhaust. but u seem to like to keep it quiet so i wouldn't get HFCs if i were you lol. excellent results though.

10 hp on our cars sounds about right i had a little more mods than you and was able to get 15 whp from tune.

The dyno was Dynapack. From the dyno results that I have seen using G37 with only R2C intake and before the tuning was 7 whp. After the tune it was 15 whp. My estimate would be no more than 20whp or about 25hp at the crank on my car.

I have this exact setup. Very high quality stuff.

Have not dyno'd. I may get a tune at some point.

Is it just me or does 265 seem really low for those mods. I've seen an '07 G35X Sedan with intake, HFC's and UR Pulley that dyno aroung 273.

Dyno numbers are worthless IMO, as you can skew the #'s to read high/low. The only true indicator is ET/trap.

I still haven't gotten mine on a dyno and I'm in no hurry to do so. It's kinda expensive considering what you get out of it.
$25 and I can take 6-8 1/4 mile runs at a track in NH.
We're thinking about setting up a meet and cruise to the track for later this summer or fall. Some real 1/4 mile times are the true test and I'm really curious where I'm at in terms of times/speeds.

If I bought the Bully Dog would I see comparable gains to this? These seem like somewhat modest gains and something that you may get with the BD or Cobb tuning. Then at least you can use it again.

I saw what I would consider a fair yet enjoyable gain when I installed my exhaust.
I saw even better gains once the BD was applied and definitely more than what I saw from the exhaust alone.
The intake is minor, although the sound is very enjoyable.

Well ... the ET/trap is no more proof unless one does BEFORE runs and AFTER runs right after the parts are installed because even more variables are introduced when testing like this. For big horsepower bumps (FI / nitrous), or drivetrain changes such as gearing or using DR's, this approach makes sense. But for possible 5 WHp gains from an intake, it's still all in error. The results can even be negated by the amount of gas one has in the tank each time one visits the track.

It would probably be easier to do BEFORE and AFTER dynos right after the parts are installed on the same day, on the same dyno for small performance changes like this.
