G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
I change mine every 30K miles but for official intervals check the owner's manual.

One member used Amsoil with unfavorable results. You may want to use Nissan fluid instead

^+1 the member complained about the car not shifting correctly and not holding RPMs correctly, could void warranty as well!

that sounds odd. the only transmissions ive ever had that needed a specific fluid were the honda ones because they use some crazy honda only fluid.

bought my car at 40k miles and barely drive 5k a year (and driven like a baby). at 52k miles tonight i checked dipstick and fluid color looked light brown-red(kinda like clean engine oil). it was also overfilled abit. judging by slight overfill and relatively light color; previous owner may have drained and filled once in past.

im gonna do drain and fill this weekend with maticJ, then another drain and fill following and report in... been reading and it seems even easier then regular MT tranny fluid change, not worried.

^ No such thing as Matic-J any more, Matic-S is the replacement and its semi synthetic.

yeah i forgot it was one of those matic J or S... i also have two quarts of matic D's ready for the t-case but i think i can hold off on that abit since one drain/fill completes it.

what sucks is dip stick level is slightly over hot max level although its been sitting for 24 hours; think im gonna get abit more then typical drain amount the first time...

I am going to hit 60k this week. Would you guys do a trany drain and fill or a flush? How about a tranny shop do it rather than a nissan dealer? I hate stealers.
