07 5at to 7at

I do a lot of highway driving and the car feels like it could use the 2 extra gears, well one more n overdrive.
Has anyone done this? Or done a manual swap?
I'd like to keep the awd so thinking the 6spd is out, unless the bnr34 trans would fit..$$$$$
So the 7at seems like the logical way to go or sell it and get a g37-q50.
Just thinking out loud, don't flame me to bad lol

It involves more money then it's worth, and when your going to sell the car good luck convincing someone that it will be easy to find someone to repair it.

Just go to the dealer...it's just an 09 trans. I'm thinking it wouldn't be that much. Just a trans front and rear drive shafts, if it's longer then the 5sp, and tcm ecu.

It will not bolt up directly to your car. And have fun trying to make all of the computers work together without issue.

If you're worried about fuel economy more than acceleration, you could try swapping out the rear gear. Would be a lot cheaper than a transmission swap.

Hmm didn't think of that. I'm guessing you suggesting using an 09 rear end? After looking at ratios being in 5th would be like 6th in the 09. Wonder how much it would affect acceleration? And if I'd really gain enough mpg's to justify the swap?

We are going opposite lol. I'm wondering what the easiest way would be to accelerate faster and the first thing that came to mind was changing out rear diff... where would I start and what would I be getting myself into?

Trans swaps/gear changes...keep it simple!

With your AT using your cruise control going 65 mph you should be at a comfortable rpm and not using much gas. Here in SoCal I use my cruise as much as possible, not that I lay awake at night thinking about gas mileage...I don't! Try using your cruise as much as possible it will help your gas mileage!

Lol can't really cruise on I-95. Plus doesn't work with vdc off... I'm just going to work earlier. Less traffic to contend with.
