P2a00
P2a00
Hi guys,
First post!!
Well I took the dive and bought a 2008 G35 Sedan...Yay!! Has 107k miles on it, but super clean.
Anyways, it is throwing up a P2A00 error code at AutoZone. So I been reading in this forum, G37, and the 350Z forums about it. Comes down to either and O2 sensor or cats.
Where do I start? Which ones come first? No dealer within 2 hours of here.
AND, are there any differences in O2 sensors? I see prices from 17 to 300 a piece!!
Thanks!!!

Bring it to your mechanic so he can run a full diagnostic on your car. There are multiple causes for P2a00, not just the 02 sensor or cats. See below for other possible causes:
Possible causes
- Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1
- Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 harness is open or shorted
- Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Fuel pressure
- Fuel injector
- Intake air leaks

I recently had this code and for me it was 2 holes in my exhaust. Had nothing to do with my cats or O2 sensor. The A/F ratio was off since it was running rich but with the added oxygen coming in from the two holes it was registering as lean.
