4K rpm with under 300 mi?

Question: What if you have to? What happens if you do? Is there noted damage that can be done? Curious. I have under 300mi. and have gone above 4K a couple of times, when I needed to...

Frankly I did the same thing, went over 4000RPMs a little, there is no way around it especially if you have to get on a busy highway, accelerating WILL go over 4000RPMs. I think I went almost to 5000 but it's ok.

As long as you do not hold a high RPM it should be ok, and as long as you don't come anywhere near the redline. 5000 is the max I will allow until I reach roughly 1200 miles and I think it'll be allright.

It's OK, as long as you don't hold it there for long. I used the paddle shifters, to vary the engine RPMs and to vary the load on the trans, under acceleration and deceleration (by downshifting) during break-in and still do I'm at 5500 miles right now. Once you get past 1200 miles, you should be good to go...

Have fun!

I have also heard diifernt things. But I do not go over 4k till I hit 500 miles and between there and my first oil change at 1000 miles. I up the rpms each time I drive it. IE I drive it only 2-3 times a week( Wife has it most of the time), But I can tell you have gone WOT and man it rips.. LOL. 850 miles on her now so another two weeks or so before my 1k oil change..
