Nismo Cai may fit!!!

I was reading on this website the Nismo intake they have for sale for the 350Z. I know someone here tried to fit it a while back and it didn't work, but this website says that it will fit 07+ Sedans with some "minor finesse". What do you guys think??? Just making more options available for anyone who is interested. Anyways, Cobb made the Nismo intake fit the G37, so it might work in our cars.

Check it out.

Is it worth the extra work over what does fit?

Well, if you search, you will find a thread about this. I tried and failed. Yes, with fabrication, it will work, but it will be a PITA to do.

The tubes of NISMO intakes are about 2~3 inches too long and only way to do this is by cutting the pipes. Also, the heat shields will not fit on our cars either.

If you really want to try, go for it. And if you do end up making it work, please share them here by posting some pix!

so the only thing wrong is that they are too long?

if thats all then i dont see how that is alot of work.. is cutting 2 pipes "extra effort"? if so, then id hate to see what real labor is to some of you guys, lol

What about for the people without proper tools?

And if you want to make your own heat shield, more power to you I'd say.

And what's with this "you guys" thing?

Go for it, I'd like to see you do it and post some pix. I was tempted to, but I ain't got *****, and would'nt want to spend 300+ for intakes.

not to threadjack, i thought CAI implied that the intake is outside the engine bay? I was expecting the CAI to be similar to the coupe. That would looks cool to have twin true CAI

There's the thing, the NISMO intakes are not really CAIs. They're just bit longer so the filters are a tad bit deeper down. IMO, they work the same as Fujitas and Stillens.

But like I said, if you want to cut that 2~3 inches, I guess it just beats its purpose to be a CAI even more. LOL

IMO the fujita and stillen both looks better, plus, why reinvent the wheel just to have a "nismo" intake when there's other alternative that's readily available.

didn't COBB or someone else say that intakes for our car don't really do anything but sound?

Comining with my exhaust w/ HFC, it's gonna be a different story. I need something to pull more air in the engine. I'm still waiting for someone to do it. LOL

considering how free-flowing the stock intake is, i'd be really surprised to see you maxing it out only making an additional 20whp.

dyno before and after plz i'd love to be proven wrong, considering how cheap intakes are. it just doesn't seem like you'd be peaking out with the smallish increase.
