Intelligent Key Low Battery Warning

I received the low battery warning and changed out the battery in my fob. I cannot get rid of the low battery warning message upon startup. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Sorry, I have to ask the obvious first ... Does your OTHER i-key clear the warning light? Is the new battery installed and oriented correctly? Is the new battery "good" (checked voltage output)?

New Battery from a sealed pack, installed correctly. I am at work and have not had the opportunity to try the other key.

Someone told me the key fob can be charged up by putting it in the slot. I think it's BS but I've been too lazy to pull out the manual.

Yes, the center display on the gauge cluster alerts you with a low battery message, allowing you to buy a new battery before it's completely dead.

Another member recently had a similar issue, he replaced the battery, confirmed it was the right side up -- the battery low battery light cleared after a few start-up cycles ... but it didn't clear for him right away.

I wonder if you'll have similar luck.

Pull the emergency key out of the fob.
Look at the flat end of the fob and you will see a tiny notch... and the line between the two sides that make up the front and back sides of the fob.

Use a tiny screwdriver and it just pops apart.
There's insturctions and a little diagram in the manual as well.
