Re: Car swept in flood

Now that's what I miss the most about home on the A'ina, the aloha everyone has even in times of stress. Everybody in Hawai'i stay o'hana whether you stay related or not. I almost jumped on stand-by for the holidays but gotta stay on the mainland til summer time. My cousin stay getting married in july. Figured I'd save up and stay for a month instead.

P.S.
For those who care. I drive a Silver Sedan 6MT CA license plate "KRZ HAYN" = "Krazy Hawaiian". A "Shaka" is always welcome.

Re: Car swept in flood

Drew,

Try to use either this thing called "Smells Be Gone" or this other one,...its not Fabreeze though, I have to look for it. But it helps to neutralize the smell. It works really good. Trust me,..I have a dog. It you take a stiff brush, not the brass ones though, and "brush" the carpet a little, it will help to air it out. Use an old hair brush if you have one. The seats, try to use the Lexol leather cleaner. How much water got in? Higher than the seats?

Re: Car swept in flood

You should take the car to a really good professional detailer. Check the posts in the detail/eye candy forum. There is a recent one about a guy leaving his sun roof open in the rain.

A really good detailer can make your problems related to this incident disappear.

Sorry those bozo city officials are to busy banging interns and squardering tax dollars to fix your roads.

Re: Car swept in flood

dont forget, that water over there probably is salt water....so that might be a small cause of it stinking so much. You gonna run it by the ins. or you just gonna claim with the state?

my friends GTI got flooded and a tree hit it a while back....ins claimed it as totalled. Hope the g isnt that bad.

Re: Car swept in flood

Sorry to hear that Andrew. Dave told me about it the other day and I was shocked. I was wondering how high the water level was...according to what you said...it must be pretty high!!! Luckily that I didn't go out with mine over the past rainny weekend. Anyway hope everything goes well...and best luck to you!
