That would be fun, but I have never heard of anyone running willow springs counter-clockwise. Please confirm the direction we are running. My dad has a shop up there and I might be there that weekend. It is the second shop as you drive down the long stretch to the track. If you see my black coupe 6mt come by and say hi. I'll try and make it.

THX, do you have some kind of special set-up with them where only our group will have the track? If not, that track could get busy, right?

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

Macky that's very generous of you!

Those of you who are helmet-less ... better step in quick! Also, don't forget passengers are required to wear a helmet as well ... otherwise they'd have to watch from the track side.

Good catch buddy. I'm not sure why I typed counter-clockwise. I meant to say clockwise. Duh!

Hope to see you there too!

Rnadys_G,
No I don't have any 'special set-up' with Speed Ventures (the event organizer). I'm just another customer like the rest of us and have always have good experience with them.

I get ask this guestion a lot by first timers and the answer is ... there will be plenty of track time for everyone. Typically at Willow they'll have three run groups (beginner, intermediate, and avanced). They may open up a 4th run group is needed. Each group typically consists of 15-20 cars.

Some of you might want to ask Eagle1 what it was like to go tracking for the very first time. Hopefully, he'll chime in here. He should be just returning from the beautiful Infineon Speedway (formally Sears Point) up in Sonoma (I had to pull out of that one ... darn that thing called work!!!).

LOOKS like Registration's actually OPEN already.

You can sign up Here.

Hint:
To begin, click -> 'Registration: Many sports avail Friday'

Be certain you've selected the right track event '06-04-2004 - Willow Springs Raceway'

I highly recommend renting a timing-device (transponder) do we can all compare lap time with each other and more importantly, so you know the different lines/techniques are actually faster or slower. 30-bux well spent IMHO.

Oh and don't forget to choose your Car# after you're done registering.

I'm getting really excited for all of us. This will be the first time where I'll be seeing more than one G on track!!!

... vroom vroom!

Ok... Bone Stock 5AT. Tell me you didnt burn up the brakes every 30 minutes on the track?

I went thru at least 3 sets of front and about 10 sets of rear pads (both stock and stillen metal matrix with stock and stillen cross drilled/slotted rotors)(added duct work, stainless stell lines with blue synthetic fluid). I had the JIC coilovers (awesome on the track) and got totalled hooked playing with me brother and his 99 M3. Without a big brake kit the G could not handle the track abuse.

Lets face it....I burn up porsche 911 turbo brakes with pagid blacks every 5-7 hours of track time and imho those brakes are the rear deal.

Doesnt that prove that if you are truely using the car to its potential...the brakes on the G35S cannot hang? Anyone not burning up brakes is propably not pushing that hard.
