The first time I had my Volks put on, the tire shop put them on. They were a pain in the a$$ to get off and broke. This time around they did not have any and installed them without. I have no problems or shaking, so I would say no.

you only need hub rings if your wheel offset is wrong.

Incorrect!

You'll only need hub rings if your wheels are not the correct center bore size. FYI, offset has nothing to do with hub rings...

^^WHS^^
You may get away w/o them, but.....
the function of the lug nut is to hold the wheel on... NOT to center it.

Hub rings are MUST HAVE!!

I have seen many picstures of broken lug bolts, cracked hubs, etc. Many people have lost their wheels and caused a lot of damage b/c they didn't have $10 hub rings. Most aftermarket wheels' hub sizes are big so that they can be made to work with wide range of applications. The lug nuts aren't designed to hold the car's weight... the weight is supposed to be on hubs.

Do yourself a favor and get a set of hub rings. Why cheap out on $10 part when you spend a couople thounsands on new wheels?

Contact your wheel manufacturer of the place you bought the wheels from and find out the bore size. Stock bore size is 66.1mm. You need to specify both stock bore size and wheels' bore size when you order rings.
