Brake Pad or Rotors
Ok, been reading a lot about the brake dust problem and how some have even had to replace pads and rotors quite early. It's starting to get me worried.
Is it a good idea to change the brakes and rotors? what's out there that's a good to have less dust, and longer lasting?
i'm like a car newbie and been looking up in different forums about it. and i know most of you know more then i do. just wondering if anyone has already changed and what you recommend.
is there something you recommend personaly? can i just change the pads or do i have to change the rotors too?
please if you can in detail.
thanks in advance.

Re: Brake Pad or Rotors
When my G35X arrives in December, I plan to immediately replace the pads with either kevlar or ceramic pads and the tires with 235/50/17 Michelin Sport A/Ss. I may also add stiffer sway bars, based on the amount of body roll. When the original rotors wear out/warp, I'll replace them with better quality rotors. I basically did the same thing with my Audi A4. I took off the terrible Goodyear RSAs at 1500 miles and put on Pirelli P7000 Super Sports. Shortly thereafter I got sick and tired of the brake dust and put on EBC kevlar brakes (no dust and better braking, especially in cold).
Re: Brake Pad or Rotors
I used the ceramic pads on my fronts for a couple of thousand miles first. Yesterday I put on stillen xdrilled/slotted rotors and ebc green stuff pads on the front. I do have the rear rotors as well but I didnt put them on yet. I am going to get a oem pad replacements first and then do the rear. From what I know EBC doesnt make the rears yet. After one day of driving around on the new rotors I definatelly feel a difference in breaking power and I havent really used them hard yet, they say to take it easy for 50-100 miles. IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR RIMS GET RID OF THE STOCK FRONT PADS!! The rears aint bad at all. I also got stoptech stainless brake lines which I havent put on yet. After I have it all on and about 100 miles on the setup I will post a review with pics. And btw the stillen rotors do look sweet.
Re: Brake Pad or Rotors
I got the rotors and the lines from kastleskorner.com. They took forever to ship my stuff. I got it about a month later. The rotors were 300 for front and 270 for real, the stoptech lines 95 front and 76 rear. the front ebc pads about 85 i forgot where i got them. I am going to use a new set of oem pads for rear.
