can i lower my car?

Ok, I got 20 inch shiny wheels in my car, the guy that put the wheels on said not to lower it but i still see that gap....do you think i will see any problems with lowering it besides the wheels cambering a little causing premature threadwear. All i am planning is like a 1 inch drop

Sitting on 20s is going to change the dynamics of handling..You can probably use the Eibach Pro-Kit...Why 20s on a G? My head hurts....

Re: can i lower my car?

You may notice slightly faster wear lowering it 1 inch, but so far it hasn't been an issue for me. I only have about 2000 miles on the 20's, but they are wearing fine and I was able to get it aligned to spec (or very close).

My sedan rubs SLIGHTLY in front on 245/35/20's 20x8.5 ADR Sterlings with a +38 offset. I have heard a +45 offset is fine if you are lowered 1 inch.

SnM--- Why 20's???? Why not? I figure go big or go home.
My G still handles great, and didn't slow down. It is a little rough over nasty bumps, but not bad. I guess it depends if you are after all out looks or performance.

I have no problem with 20s, but to me it just doesn't look right on a G...To each his own...And I'll consider performance first every time...

Wow.. If "pulling mad hoes" is your goal, do us a favor and buy a Focus SVT.

Umm...So...He goes to the track and "sits on his dubs" while the real drivers are posting 1/4 mile times? I don't get it...

Re: can i lower my car?

While the G is quick, if you purchased this car for the pure speed factor, for $30+K there are many options for pure speed. If racing is the issue, just get a second set of wheels or keep the stocks for the track. 20's are not too big for the G. 19's are o.k. if you lower it enough, but I don't think they look too big in any way (especially with all the wanna-be ballers with 26" rims on Escalades.)

Re: can i lower my car?

damn!!! you guys don't have to get all bent out of shape, they're just wheels. They didn't slow it down, but it did get a little bumpier. they are 20" Foose Spank 245/35 toyos. And it does indeed pull mad hoes and still spanks the majority of cars on the street and looks bad *** while doing so. For those who have 20's on their G and lowered...do the tires rub at all? i.e. while making turns...or those dips on the freeway....i'm planning just the 1" drop to get rid of that nasty fender gap.

If I wanted a race car i'd build a muscle car.

The Foose wheels are nice...I'm considering Lussos for the FX35...One site tells me you can get them spinning, and the other says I can't...Don't suppose you know, since you shopped Foose?

Re: can i lower my car?

Yes, you can get the lussos spinner but they are not very attractive looking, here's a link http://www.superbuytires.com/wheels_...ml?brand=Foose it shows you both the regular lusso and the spinner lusso along with all of the Foose wheels. But in my opinion I think your FX would look absolutley bitching with the Spank Spinners, take a look ---> http://www.superbuytires.com/wheels_...del=Spank6+SP6

Whats the biggest size you can fit in those? it looks like it could fit 22s, big *** wheel well. Glad to help...PEace

You've gotta be kidding me. "Real drivers"? Who are you, John Force? You "racers" kill me. Some of us drive our "luxury/sport" car to and from work and to the grocery store. We must be wasting our time, since we could be at the track, trying oh-so-desperately to break 100 mph in the 1/4, in a car with reclining back seats...I love my G too, but for some of us, the G35's primary function is transporation while looking good, not winning Le Mans...

Re: can i lower my car?

I'm with you guys. "If I wanted a race car i'd build a muscle car" That is my stance. I love my G and it is quick, blows away the majority of cars on the road, but it's not a RACE car. Those of you whining about loosing .0001 seconds in the quarter mile because of heavier rims/tires are pathetic wanna-be racers/ricers.

Also the handling is not ruined with Eibach's either. It actually improves.

You may rub in the front depending on your offset. I rub a little bit in the front in driveways, etc, but the idiots at Wheel Max sold me the wrong offset for the front even though I told them it was lowered.
