Tonight I saw a black sedan with 235/45 17 on the stock 5 spoke 17" rims. The tires were the so3 pole. I was under the impression that this size was not a good fit for our stock rims and the diameter is a bit off, right? Oh one last thing, the wheel gap was huge, but the rim/tire looked like it had some pretty good grip.

 

yeah i hav got 235/50-17's on my stock sport rims.... these are perfect diameter (0.1% bigger)

The 235/45's are definitely too small....

gurgen are the 235's the tires depicted in your pics on this website? I was under the impression they would stick out too far given the narrow rim width but yours look great.

 

If you look at the specs for a 235/45R17 S03 on TireRack's website, you'll see that the minimum rim width is 7.5". Our rims are 7.0" wide. It's not a safe choice.
