I have had Nitto 555's and now have Falken FK452's which I like just as much (dry) and way better (wet).

Yoko, nitto's are soft. I had them on my BMW I got 15k at the most out of them. I replaced my tire twice in the same year.

Man I had those ES 100's on mine, they were 18" and they BLEW A$$!!!! The loudest ride EVER.... I would NEVER run those again. No opinion on the Nitto's but Def not the ES 100's.

Nitto's in my experience are not that bad. I drive crazy miles and these tires last forever. Of course, if you are looking for performance, these tires are okay but don't expect crazy grip, especially in the wet. I use my G in my commute so I'm looking for maximum ROI. ~30K a year in miles so a long lasting tire is a must for me. My last set on my old car lasted me 50K+ miles (mostly highway miles and on 18's).

For a reference, I can tell you on my old G ('05) I ran ~25K miles on stock 19" rubbers before I traded it in, which is well over what others have run.

In my latest set, I had 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 or close to that, can't remember the exact sidewall spec. Quieter than stock at first, then it gets a bit noiser but still quieter than stock IMO. Ran ~12K miles with about 80+% tread left before I trashed them in an accident. Grip was better than stock, but of course the new tires are much bigger also. I'd say about 15-20% spirited driving (about 1/4 of that really agressive and the rest semi agressive). The responsiveness isn't too great with the 20's. I felt that it lacked a bit of crispness in quick turn ins. And as long as you are smooth with your turns and throttle, it sticks good.

In general, good for long mileage and dry weather driving. Cheaper than other "performance" tires. But check out the Falkens too. I've heard some good things about their longevity and road noise (I think. I've been out of the forums for a while).

I had Yoko on my 18' a while back, only got out 15k miles out of these tires , I am not a speeding driver and I expected to get more miles out of these Yoko than my stock Michelin sport (17K miles). I dont know about Nitto since I never have it yet! Currently run on the KDW2!!!! havent' check on these tires yet after few thousands miles, perhaps this weekend when the weather is dry!!
