Rear Tire Feathering Possible?

All,

Does anyone know if it is possible to have rear tire feathering? I have only 7000 miles on my summer rears and they are wearing heavily on the inside tread on both rear tires. I know front feathering is semi common, but I could not find any specific references to rear tire feathering.

Feathering usually means toe adjustment is out of spec.

Excessive wear on inside tread usually means camber is out of spec.

and, of course you can have a combination of the two.

I've heard of inside wear on rear coupe tires. Again there is no camber adjustment for the rears so only toe can be adjusted. It has not been as common a problem as the front feathering issues.

Because the rear doesn't have a high caster or any caster.
Don't confuse heel toe feathering with block side to side feathering from toe squirm.

So if I take it in for an alignment, they should find it out of spec? I have the OEM 19s. Is it possible to have the car aligned, then dismount the tires from the wheels and have them "rotated"? I do not think the Potenzas are directional. Any thoughts?

Sure, once the suspension is aligned, the tires and wheels can be moved around.
