Just wondering if anyone got these on? Would i need a camber kit? Is the ride alot different from stock? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Re: TEIN Basic coilovers

I have the BASIC system.

And I did need the camber kit (Bought mine for $219 from Kinetix Racing). And I still have excessive camber because of how the toe needs to be set. I am waiting for someone to perfect a plan to adjust the toe so that I can set the camber right.

Now, part of the problem is I have the suspension adusted with the maximum possible drop (for my tire/rim size and offest to prevent rubbing). The supension could be set considerably higher minimizing the adverse effect to the camber.

As for the ride... the suspension remains equally as quiet as stock and the ride is slightly stiffer but feels more like it is a performance suspension instead of just rougher. Its hard to explain but I have used Eibach pro springs on 4 other cars and they were 1000 times worse. I think the Tein system is about as close to stock as possible while still increasing performance.

jeremy, i'm curious as to what tire/rim size and offset you are running? they have to be set to the lowest setting to prevent rubbing?

Re: TEIN Basic coilovers

I just installed my Tein Basics about 3 weeks ago. Having the sport package 18's prior, the car was stiff and would occasionally bounce. With the Tein Basics, the ride is more stiff and tight on corners. They car bounces a lot on streets, but on the freeway, the car feels planted. You can feel the bumps on the road. It is a bouncy ride. I didn't slam my car to the lowest setting. I have 20's, so when I got the car lowered, I wanted to make sure that they don't lower the back as much due to camber and toe problems. I went to get an alignment, and camber is set at -2.9 back-left, and -2.3 back-right, toe is slightly corrected. I lowered it only 3/4 in the back. I don't have the camber or toe kit. Hope that helps.
