Hi All,

Don't post much but do hang around. With all the talk about tires and what sizes to put on your stock 19'' wheels I figured I would share my experience. After many hours of reading on this site and a few pm's I decided that it would be safe to go with 245/35 and 255/40. I didn't want to keep the stock sizes because of the limited selection and I felt they looked too small
I also didn't want to go with tires wider than the recommended width for our wheels.

So with that said...I went with the Falken Fk452. My wife really drives the car all the time so I wasn't looking for the stickiest rubber more for a relatively quiet ride and good tread life. The Falken's look sweet have a pretty decent tread life , the best part about it I paid $650 bucks for all 4 tires! It was either these or the Toyo's but couldn't pass up this deal. With all said and done I ran away with 4 tires for $750 installed!

I purchased the tires at edgeracing.com however, I was a bit concerned because they have a F or F+ BBB rating, I took a chance and it worked just be warned. I purchased on a Wednesday night received a tracking number the next night and the tires were delivered on Monday (2 business days)!

As for driving with the tires, I have only driven 50ish miles with the new tires but so far I love them (wife too). We can actually use a cell phone while driving (maybe even the bluetooth - haven't tried yet). The old tires were really bad but man these new tires are nice...tires still need to be broken in but the traction on these thing already is great. I do "feel" the difference with the wider tires in the front during steering (little heavier) but not really a negative just something I noticed. Also, no issues with the VDC. Still kicks in when it needs to and doesn't come on when it isn't suppose to!

Fronts are 1.3% smaller
Rears are 1.2% larger

Doesn't that throw your stagger off too much?

cool 245/35 and 255/40

i went with 245/40 all around but plan on 255/40 rear next time

As far as handling it will induce a bit more oversteer compared to factory setup, however for looks the fronts are def. wider but you can still tell that the car is staggered.

I went with the same setup. I've driven about 1000 miles on them already and no complaints here. I've driven them to about 110 mph, driven in rain, dry....great tires. Great handling and very quiet.

I think this is EXACTLY what I'm fixing to do. Same tires, same sizes.

I think I'm going 235-40-19 for my replacement fronts. When the backs go, They'll become 255-40-19. So, it'll go from a 2.4% difference (stock), to a 1.2% difference, then back to the stock 2.4% difference, with a little more meat on my bones.

This will work fine, right? The only downfall is harder to find tires. I can only find the 235-40-19 in RE050A's, but I found a good deal for the first two. If I can't find the same deal again, then I'll end up with 245-35 front, 255-40 back, like you guys.

Or, I may move my 245/40/19's to the front, make the rears 255/40/19. Then when the fronts go again, 245/35.

Man, too much to decide upon. This second option works easier for me, but would it work like that? I'm assuming it would.

I think that 235 combo might not work.

Yeah, It seems very strange that it doesn't work but as EmptyWallet linked to, some have tried and had VDC issues. The strange thing is that with 235/40 in the front and 255/40 in the back is the same width difference as stock and the same percentage of difference in speed from the front and the back!

Going with 245/35 and 255/40 has a difference of ~5% speed between front and rear...where stock is 2.4% however, driving with the car with these new tires I see no issues. The car handles like it's on rails and still no VDC issues.

I agree, it's very weird and seems like it should be the other way around.

If you look, it's all been the same person having problems with 235/40/19 and 255/40/19. Later down, someone points out that Falken didn't make 235/40/19. The guy later corrects himself and says 235/35/19, which makes more sense. That throws the stagger way off, not the stock 2.4%.

you saved me a rack of cash. i was gonna run dedicated winter tire and switch them to high perf. summer tires in spring due to there being NO a/s tires. i think im gonna run the michilin sport a/s 245/35/19 and 255/40/19 and just not drive like a dick bag in winter, and the wider tires might help with hooking up in summer(running 370+hp to the wheels). thanks
