road noise from tires

hey guys, well, i've had my rims and tires for about 11 months now, and the same set of tires. i have no front camber kit and it shows alot of camber. well, the tires arent so very worn down and have a few more thousand miles before i switch them. (i have toyo T1R)

question is, do you guys hear alot of road noise from your tires anymore? like its not gripping to the road, a soft squeeling sound like if you were to take a hard turn off the frwy off ramp. I use to not hear it at all, and now i'm always hearing it when i get to a certain part of the frwy on my way to work.

my car use to be sooo sooo smooth. it wasn't bumpy, and the suspension wasn't soft, it was very stiff, but gave such a smooth and QUIET ride comfort. but now, it sucks. The suspension has gotten soft, and very bumpy now, and the tires squeel sometimes, but i still have alot of tread left.

what gives?

That was one of the reasons I didn't buy a second set of Toyo TR1s they are not the quietest but it's hard to find a Z rated tire that is for less than 300 a piece. I switched to Bridgestones can't think of the model that come stock on the M35/45 sport package 19" and the difference was night and day absolutely no road noise and they still handle just as well as the Toyos they are W rated but the tread wear is a lot better than the Toyos. I say keep them until it's time to buy new tires and try a different brand.

Seems to be a lot of bad reviews on those Toyos for road noise after a year or so. I just got a set of Kumho Ecsta SPTs on mine. True, they're only Y rated (186mph), but thats good enough for me at under $180 per tire! Quiet too.

Yes, the Toyo'a are loud but not soo much that it drowns out the exhaust. I hear it more when I'm rolling in neutral. My front and rear are cambered also and starting to show some wear on the inside, time to get a camber kit.

There has been a ton of info discussed on forums with regards to tire noise. All of our Coupes will have some degree of tire noise once the tires get miles on them. This will usually occur between 7-8000 miles on the fronts. Some tires with larger tread blocks can be noisier than others. If anyone puts on new tires and notices the noise from the beginning, be prepared for some heavy duty noise as the tire wear progresses. Thank the negative camber and twisted front end geometry for our tire woes. It goes with ownership of the G35 Coupes.

Driving a vehicle in an out of alignment condition will cause uneven tire wear that can make the tires cause road noise. It's not the tires fault. This is why the tires were quiet when you purchased them, but after driving on them in an out of alignment condition, the tires have become noisy. Do a proper alignment on the vehicle and get a new set of tires.

Good luck with it.
