exactly, because in drifting you want less traction so you can get the *** end loose.

Wow... some of you sound REALLY passionate about how vile tire stretching is to you. Its not that serious, some people prefer them - some dont.
Btw hot 240!

Ok some of these are too much, way over stretched. But that 240sx for instance is sick. That looks good. But this one on this page is retarded. Everything has its limit. Check out rijok or whatever his name is. The guy with 20 million wheels. He got some nice looking strtched tires on all his wheels. Im all for it, although i am running 285 on my 10.5 right now.

hah, and here i am shopping for wider tires for my 7" rims... maybe i should go for 175s instead of 225s or 235s.

(i don't know what the roads are like where you guys are, but i worry about my rims with the stock 215/55s, and am actually considering going to taller, wider tires for both ground clearance and to protect the rims a bit more...)

i've seen a few beat up civics with stretched tires, and always thought it was just because they blew all their cash on the rims and couldn't afford the right tires... learn something new everyday...

A stretched tire is characteristically "import." Nothing wrong with it - just a certain look. On the other hand, the square shouldered tire is characteristically domestic. I think a stretched tire goes along with the lightweight, efficient, trim look of most imports, whereas the meaty tire compliments a domesic's raw muscle.
