Hey everyone, have had my '04 Coupe for a while and this problem has just started happening to me recently. About 2 weeks ago I put on new back tires, the fronts are still in good shape. Didn't go an alignment or anything after putting them on. And a week or two ago, i was getting onto a highway onramp that bends around and all of a sidden my front tires like loose grip or traction for a second, feels like i don't have control of it and the traction light comes on in the dash for about a second or two. I slowed down and it went away. I was doing about 40-55 mph. And a coupel of days ago it did the same thing, different onramp. It was dry roads both times, i've checked the tire pressures in the front and both are fine, one is a bit higher at 36 and the other at 34.5. The front tires still have a lot of wear left but I did notice the insides of the front tires are noticeably wearing much much faster than the middle and outside, almost down to nothing. Has anyone had this sort of problem or know what it could be? Like I said it only has happened twice, both times I was pushin the car pretty good through a highway onramp that is not straight. Need help!

 

You need new front tires...

 

sounds like u need an alignment. Ur front camber and toe is fuked up.

yep, have them on the stock 18s. i was hopin to not have to replace the fronts and just do an alignment but looks like i may not be so lucky ;\

 

Unfortunately as tires are exposed to heat and ozone the material hardens and friction coefficients decrease. Even 6 months 3,000 miles can create a measurable difference especially after 8,000 miles on the most vworn tire.

 

unmount and flip the tires and get and aligment is one option.

New tires and aligment is another
