Tire size question

So I got a pretty good deal on some dealer takeoff 350z wheels, 18x8's and 18x8.5's. Not what I was looking for but a huge upgrade over the curbed 17's on the car.

First off, before the flames, I searched.

My question is, What size tires do I need to run? I'm thinking 235/40's and 255/40's.

Do i need to run 255's on the 8.5 in wheel or is that too wide for daily driving?

Also, any tire recommendations would be great, it seems like Falken 452's and Toyo T1R's are the most popular on this forum.

stock sizes for those wheels are 225/45/18 for the front and 245/45/18 for the back...

I run 245/40/18 front and 245/45/18 rear.. Falken Azenis ST-115 rubber

If you have an 8.5 on the back you could go for a 255 easy. If it were my car I would be running 245/40 front and 255/40 rear.

You want to run 245/40/18 in front and 265/40/18 on the 8.5" rims in back. They'll work fine on your 8.0 and 8.5" wheels and maintain the factory stagger. Don't run the same sizes front and back. There are many threads in this forum that tell you why you don't want to kill the stagger.

BTW, IMHO, the 5 spoke late model 35Z wheels are among the best looking looking wheels around.

PS - Just remembered this post:

255/40/18 in back would have too small an outer diameter. If you go with a 255 in back, the correct size would be 255/45/18 to maintain the correct stagger. However, as I said, 265/40/18 would go fine with the 8.5" rear.
