Some tires are directional but symmertrical, but you can still swap them from side to side case in point: Falken 451, 452s.

Some tires you cannot swap side to side, they actually state on the sidwall which sides are outside, or Inside. Those tires I guess are Asymmertrical?

Case in point: Falken Azentis (sp?)

^ correct Nitto tires are the same way.

for the most part you will find that in most high performance summer tires that will never see snow or ice.

most summer tires i've had have always been Symmetrical directional (Falken FK 451, 452, Yokohama AVS). I can rotate them side by side with my staggered setup

Tires that are asymmetrical are going to be directional no matter what so with a stagger setup, you cant rotate AT ALL (Falken Azentis). With nonstagger setup, you can only rotate them front and back. You will be azzed out if you have innter camber wear.

Symmetrical=symmetric. (ie mirror image) Falken 452, Toyo T1R etc
Assymetrical=not symmetric Bridgeston re050a, Vredenstein etc

Directional is a whole other classicafication.

Some assymetrical tires can be flipped, such as the re050a, which does not have an inside or outside patter designation, while others cannot as pointed out above.

you should go 245/35/19 in the front instead. Same height, but much better handling

do you by any chance have pics of your ride w/ your tires setup? i have the rays too but riding 245 40 19 all around. with my current setup, my front wheels looks bigger than my rear. i liked the stagger look but was trying to save $$$ on tires

previously, i had 225 40 19 front & 245 40 19 rear. it looked good but way too much gap in the front.

thanks.

255 40 19 sounds like you need to have your fenders rolled flat for sure

I just grabbed a set used for $700. Dude only put 1500 miles on them as he went with a wider tire on his M3. I couldn't pass up that deal. So that was the sizes he had.

eh. The tires still smelled new. They still had the new tire nipple things on the edge and measured out to about 9/32nds. They are really almost like the picture above (which is brand new)
