cool thanks. was debating on 255 or 245. but 255 might be too meaty on a 10'' wheel looking at other pics.

Yea I'd stick with the 245, it's a nice mild stretch.

Blain, do you know what kind of a stretch the Nitto NT5's are? The tire stretch list that I have doesn't state what the NT5 was. Trying to stick with something that stretches true or slightly smaller than true. My Extensa HP's won't last me another 2 weeks and I found a set of NT5's for $95 a piece locally.

Planning on a 225/35 on my 9.5 wheel.

the tire sizes are fine, but you can go more aggressive with reasonable camber - I'll get to that in a sec. -light/slightly mild stretch. the rear stretch will be a little more. but why is your rear camber so much? you have a front camber kit but no rear - or have you not got an alignment yet?

as I said before, you can go more aggressive. you could put on a 30mm spacer up front and run about -1.2 camber. I run 9.5 +2 which is 3 more mm aggressive than if you ran a 30mm spacer, and run -1.4. - for the rear, you could put on a 25mm too and run about -1.8, but with your current desired set up you would run around -1.4.

last thing I'll say is, with your current stretch and offsets, you will be able to run within oem specs for sure - if that's what you're aiming for. but you need to fix that camber, running that stretch in the rear with the amount of camber will look sloppy.

tldr; run 25 and 20mm spacers - your fitment will be a bit better.

dont know if this was directed to me? im not trying to be more agressive, just using the spacers i already have. i didnt have the toe bolt holes extended so i havent fix the rear camber. thanks for the heads up, if it doesnt look good i can get that fixed no problem. guess we will wait and see.

ah. now I understand that you're just using what you already have. and that set up will work just fine.

I was explaining that youre able to go more aggressive and still be within spec by going another size aggressive, if so desired.

I'm ordering my autocross-only setup from Tire Rack and decided on Enkei RPF1's in 17x8 but from all my research, everyone runs +35 offset with them in that size, but Tire Rack recommends +45. I imagine that's because it'll be closest to stock, but If +35 will get me more flush without any poke, I'd rather do that. I don't have a BBK so clearance shouldn't be a problem either way I don't think. Which offset do I want for autocross use, and why?

In case it's relevant, I'm mounting 245/45/17 Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's on them which should be pretty square.

Thanks guys!

+35 offset would not get you anywhere near flush

Yeah I just re-read what I posted and that didn't really make any sense. I guess a better question would be why are most people running +35 if +45 is a wider, better looking fit?

Anybody take their car to the track with spacers installed on the wheels? I have some ichiba spacers on my sedan and am going to a track day on Sunday. I was wondering if it is safe to run spacers at the track? This is a road course that i am going to.

Thanks
marty

You have at least an inch up front so you could start with a 25mm spacer there and pull the fender liner screws out, the rear really depends on how much camber the car has out back.

Have you already rolled the rear fenders?
I plan on getting the fenders rolled to see what I can fit. I only need the rears rolled right?

you have your offset terms mixed up. lower the offset(number), the further out it is. higher the offset the more sunk it is. people are right by running +35 over +42 for aesthetics.

I'm almost positive they run similar to the invos. So you're going to be on the larger end of running true.

Spacers and the track shouldn't be an issue, just make sure everything is torqued down correctly.

17x8 +35 will be totally fine for this set up. You could even buy a larger wheel if you wanted and go 17x9.5 +40ish and run a 265/45.
