There's always been debates on the safety of stretched tires - and for complete honesty, there is no safety issue as long as you keep your tires properly inflated and keep track of tire wear...especially on such a very mild stretch.

And shame on that tire shop. Even Walmart mounted 225/245/35 on my 9.5/10.5. If I remember right, technically, 235/255 is still within most tire manufacturer's recognized safe tire sizes for those widths. If you show them a chart, like the one on Hankook's or online tires' site, I'm sure they would have no problem. But with all that effort, it's easier to find another shop.

If I were to get these rims, could I fit them on by just getting the hubcentric rings, or do I need fender work (I'm guessing maybe on the rear?) Thanks

Need some help from the experts. I am trying to figure out what it would take to fit these wheels on my 2008 2nd gen sedan. I am currently dropped on H&R springs with about -1.8 to -2.0 camber up front and -1.6 in the rear.

Looking into the following offsets: F 19x8.5 (+25et) R 19x9.5 (+17et) wrapped with Yoko S.drives 245/35/19s up front and 275/35/19s in the rear.

Would I be able to fit the rears w/o any fender mods??? I know that I will have plenty of room up front but I think I am cutting it very close on the rears. My guess is that I will have to run smaller tires in the rear to make them work. Anyway, if some of you fitment experts can provide some insight, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

If i run 255/35/20 in Hankook V12s will they fit the exact same, i need the stretch and fitment to be the same, theres no room for change

Yup, no problem. You'll want some spacer eventually but you'll be fine as is.

i've looked at the Sticky: Data Base: Lowered with Aftermarket Rims/Tires, but did not see anyone running 20 x 9.5. any suggestions from the experts out there? i'm dropping it with eibach's kit (hoping to add the akebono brake kit sometime in the future).

please let me know if anyone knows of any issues with the sizing as well.
thanks!
9.5 up front is fine, it's the rear you should be worried about. 10.5 +48 will definitely rub the strut. Look for a 10" wide out back with around a +40 The 9.5 up front should be good up to about +25 or so.

No issues, tire shop just hasn't even done it. Either go to another shop or show them some photos of Tyrestretch.com Ask them to use a cheetah, if they don't know what that is then stop talking to them and leave.

4DGS, I know we talked about the XXR526 in 18X9 +35 on my sedan. What about the ones in the link attached? 18X8.5 +30? Better fit with no fender roll? Like mentioned before, not wanting to poke or go aggressive. What tire size fits best for this condition?
18x8.5 +30 will be totally fine, almost the same specs as oem coupe wheels which the sedans love. 245/40 all around or 225/45 and 245/40 if you want to stagger.

Like I said, no the hankooks run true, generals run really big.

Not sure who informed you about hub rings but they don't really come into play when making wheels fit. They're an ease tool.

The front is fine, but the rear offset is a little low, you'd need rolled fender and a little camber if you plan to run full size tires. Look for a 9.5 +35

yea you're going to need a stretch or camber to fit the +17 out back, front is definitely fine.

Look for an offset closer to 30mm on the 9.5

I'm really the only one that goes through this lol ask on VSC, but most of the tires that run large are the expensive ones like Michelin PS, Nitto Invos, Nitto 555 etc. Use the list on VSC to run through the true/small/large list and see what's available.

Question for you 4DGS, I'm running 20x8.5 +25 on a 245/35, I'm going to replace that with a 225/35, Would I need spacers? If I do, what size spacers would you recommend?

I recently went down from a 275/30 on a 20x10 +25 to a 255/30 and I'm loving the look. Now I just need the fronts to match with the rear poke.

Thanks again!

You've got lots of room, Marcus ran a 19x8.5 +/-0 I'm pretty sure with a 225/35 and that was stock front fenders just pinched.

You have lots of room to move so I'd go anywhere from 15-25mm

Need stance help on an "x".

iM have running 18x8.5 all around on a 245/40/18 set up on my G35x.

i want to change my set up to 18x9.5 all around with a 255/40/18 set up. i need opinion on if the 18x9.5 would clear the front end.. I've asks JDMCAINE and he said it should be just fine..

but... I'm really looking into going staggered but i don't know whether i should go with 19s or stay with 18s.. and plus i don't know how to determine what tire sizes to go with if i do runs staggered....... its pretty rough bc i have an AWD and I'm sketched out on doing the vip thing which i really want to do..

if you have any suggestions please feel free to provide me with some input and you professional opinion on what set up i should run...

as of now I'm sticking with 18x9.5 with a 255/40/18 TO BE SAFE, but i really want to do be in the WrongFitmentCrew.. 18s? 19s? off sets? and tire sizes???

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

First, just to clear that up, can't do the "vip thing" with this car. it's not a vip platform, you can style in the way a vip car would be though....

To poke you'll need to run smaller tires than 255/40.

If you want to go aggressive you NEED coilovers.

Go up to 19s or you're going to have to slam the **** out of your car for the look you want.

19x9.5 +20 with 235/35 and you're set. Roll rear fender pull the hardware out of the front fenders.

I guess this question is for Blain since he seems to be the one actively helping others.

Anyway, I am about to order some new wheels and need some feedback/advice. The wheel specs are F19x9.5 (+30et) R19x10.5 (+30et). These are for my 2008 2nd gen sedan (no fender mods) retrofitted with Akebono's dropped on H&R springs with about -1.8 to -2.0 camber up front and -1.6 in the rear.

Can you help me pick out the correct tire size? I was thinking 245/35/19 up front and 265/30/19 or 255/30 in the rear? Is that the correct tire size for those specs?

Also do I need to dial in extra camber in the rear to fit these?

Thanks in advance!

-Jason

IMO the front fitment can use a set of spacers to be flush, but the rear should be pretty flush.

Thanks in advance!

-Jason
