So did Meineke screw up my tire?

Last week I brought my G to Meineke to have the front tires swapped for inside tire wear. Two days later the inside wall (good side) of the LF tire has big bumps and is causing vibration. Do you guys think it's just a coincidence?

Anyone who selects a generic shop for a performance vehicle deserves what they get!

You have a better idea since you know so much? I've been to tuner shops, custom wheel shops had bad experiences. Just like any business. Before this incident, this Meineke hadn't so much as put a scratch on any of my wheels. Everyone is due to receive bad service at some point. I'm not even sure they were really at fault.

get a camber kit and new tires. Swapping tires to compensate for inner wear is stupid. and cheap.

Aside from all the comments you're getting about shop choice, you'll probably get better advice posting with pictures. Getting a visual on these "big bumps" would allow someone that's been-there-done-that to jump in with a relevant reply.

I never found out if Meineke damaged the tire. Since I only had a few thousand miles left on the tires, I bought some new tires, took it back to Meineke, and they installed the new ones for free. Problem solved.

I still don't get some of the comments about the shop. Custom wheels shops damage wheels too. I know, I've been a victim of those kinds of shops as well.

Stay away from NTB too... Before I had the G35 I had a CTS and had just bought new rims. Had them do a re-balance and not only did they scuff all of my rims around the lug nut holes, they couldn't get it balanced right. I took the G35 to a different NTB to get a balance and they couldn't get the balance right either. Took it to the dealership and they finally got it riding smooth. It's hard to find anyone who gives a crap about their job at the chain shops.
