Wow, nice choice of rims, that really looks nice. I like how the rear tire tuck's nicely, looks like it all was planned, not a after thought.

Evil question, how much does each rim weigh?

Oh, how much did the 350Z H-tech's drop you vs oem, 1.3"?

Re: Sedan pics 19in stagg Hiros lowered w/ 350z H Tech

Problem is I didn't take stock measurements. I was hoping that someone, hint, hint, had them so I could compare the height difference. I am assuming that the front lowered 1.3 and the rear lowered 1.2 based on the 350z stock suspension being aprox 1 inch lower at all four corners. Only way to know for sure is if someone with a stocker takes some measurements from the center of the wheel to the fender.

As for the ride, the H techs ride about like stock, which is what I wanted. As you know, Gsedan35, the spring rates are balpark 10-15% stiffer than the sport suspension so that is neglegable. Also, now I have the d specs on a setting of 4 in the front and 4 1/2 in the rear, so far so good, but I will have to drive a couple of 100mi to decide for sure.

As for weight, I don't even want to talk about that. I am positive it is heavier than stock, but I am not sure how it compares to other staggered setups. If you want true performance and light weight, a staggered setup probably is not the way to go on a sedan IMO. But it sure makes the car look tough. The Axis Hiro is not forged so there is one strike right there. Axis does say it is a light weight wheel but that doesn't mean anything either; light weight compared to what.....a friggen tank wheel? Anyways, that was a long and drawn out way of telling you.....I dont really know

Re: Sedan pics 19in stagg Hiros lowered w/ 350z H Tech

I have had minor rubbing on the rears over r/r tracks or very large bumps at high speed (I'm talking the kind of bump where every car infront of you bounces a few times and you know its comming) I have inspected the edge of the fender and so far no damage to it or the tire. As for the offset it is 55 in the rear which is about the most you can get in a 9.5 wide rim. I am running a little less than one degree of neg camber to aid in reducing understeer and extend tire life. If I go to a 1.5 or so, I suspect the top of the tire will then clear the fender edge.

If anyone else with a similar setup has any recommendations, I am all ears. But for the most part I am very pleased with my results. This is just part of what comes with experimenting with a setup that no one else has tried.

Re: Sedan pics 19in stagg Hiros lowered w/ 350z H Tech

I know that the suspension is supposedly different on the g35x. I think it is built to handle more weight. So, in short I am not sure. I am guessing it would work as my after market setup is more beefy than the stock, so ultimately there is only one way to find out. Just don't spend your last dollar, as you, like I did, will just have to give it a shot based on an educated guess. Your mission should be to get educated on the differences between the g35 and g35x. Hopefully someone on the site will be able to help you out more. If you decide to go that route, be sure to post your findings for other g35xers.
