two different types of snow tires?

Alright so im about to put on my winters the previous owner left behind. For some reason he only had 3. he has one 235/40/18 bridgestone blizzack lm-25 for the front. I cant fiind this tire anywhere. can i put a different type of tire on the other side?

Many sources recommend to keep all four tires the same brand/style. However, if you must break from this, then at least keep each axle with the same brand style. Of course, don't mix radial with non-radial tires. Good luck.

I'd buy two new ones,

i would run 3 -1 but i would and have run 2 - 2

i've never quite understood why you shouldn't mix radial and non radial tires, but it's good to know that you shouldn't.

Option 1 is not a good option. Don't even consider doing that.

You could try to find a similar Blizzak tire for the other front (option 3), but if it were my car, I'd still go with option 2 to be on the safe side.

im probably just gonna get the closest snow tire to the blizzak possible and hope for the best. plus on my rsx at one point i had four different kind of tires and it never gave me any problems.

i would definitely not go with the summers in the front, you won't be able to stop/steer in the snow and in some cases the cold.

but if you absolutely wont' buy new front tires, then i guess option 3 is okay.

Just choose option 2 unless the single one is in very good shape in which case you could buy 1 new one that's EXACTLY the same size and you should be fine.

Not the best idea to run two differ snows, or any tires, for that matter. No way I would recommend mixing a summer with a winter tire on the same car. Here are some useful links..

the blizzak lm-25 has 90 percent tread left which is why i wanna keep it. I called a tire shop and they said the closest tire they had was the nexen wingaurd sport. IF you look at the tread they do look very similar. im probably gonna buy it and hope for the best.

It's not just the tread pattern, it's also the tire compound that will be different.

Remember, tires and brakes are not something you want to cheap out on, and tires are the only things that contact the ground on your car. Your G is a lot more powerful and heavier than your RSX was, and it's not FWD.
