hey after u guys installed your flex coilovers was ur suspension real noisy? like clanking noise. i heard from a lot of people that it is just the coilovers breaking in...can anybody atest to this? if it happend to you guys how long did it take to stop?
mine was and still is. i took it in to get it tightened once, and that helped for awhile. but it started up again.
i'm going to take it in again. it just sounds "clanky" on very bad bumps.
it is very stiff though, so the body might squeak as well.

yes yes yes! finally someone else has the same exact noise i have! rear passenger side always clunks over bumps. its very bumpy in NY, so i attributed something getting loose in the suspension. both the suspension and parcel shelf were making annoying noises, so i took the car in to the dealer and they fixed the parcel shelf for a bit, but after a few bumpy roads, noises came back. plus the shock noise never got fixed. i thought maybe the shock itself was loose, so i raised the car but the shock was in pretty good. i will try to tighten the center nut in the future, but i have the edfc and can u just take that thing off and put it back on without problems?
i hope we can fix this problem cos its annoying the crap outta me!

I don't have the Tein Flex but I have a clanking noise. I have theTein CS and when I hit any bumps it clanks.Sounds like my whole front end is loose. Took it in today, they almost took it all apart and re-tighted everything(4hrs) but still clanks any thoughts???????????

roko, how do the CS ride and handle? I am trying to decide between the Flex and CS. I don't think I ever need 1/2 the stiffness setting on the Flex. On the hardest setting, does the CS offer enough performance benefit to justify its price? Do you notice an improvement in the handling of the vehicle as well as comfort?
I occasionally will hear a clunking from the coilovers - usually while descending a parking garage ramp I frequent near work and more rarely on hard bumps.
I have had the coilovers now for nine months so I would guess they are broken in - especially since I do put quite a few miles on the coupe.

Be wary that the noise is not from the 'Rear Axel TSB', which can usually only be heard when at very low speed as you've described.
In contrast, if parts of the coilover were not bolted down tightly or correctly, the noise will grow more obvious when going over bumps and irregularities as speed increases.
Personally, I have the rear axel issues so I hear the ticking/crunchy/clunky sound when backing out of the drive way. I just haven't the time to have it serviced ... that'll be my new years resolution
