The clearcoat on mine started to chip when I had them for about 2 months and had emailed you about it and got no reply. Now it has progressed to about 3 of my rims. Maybe you need to recount that complaint box. I have emailed you several times about the clearcoat chipping and just recently have gotten a reply that you would not warranty it. I have inspected my rims and there are no "tool marks" to be seen with my untrained eyes. If your rims are of highest quality then you should back it up. Now I will have a local shop fix this problem and I just have to chalk it up to a lesson learned.

The tool marks were from the inside of the lug nut holes. If it is chipping from the center cap it is because the center cap was not lubed and forced into the wheel. We do not use cheap plastic center caps on our wheels. When you force an aluminum centercap into an aluminum wheel, it can chip the liquid clearcoat.

To stop all the problems why make options? Just go with the good stuff from the start. If you have to mark up the wheel then so be it. Atleast people will be happy in the end and Iforged wont get a bad name.

Why didn't you call them instead of relying on email?

I think this is what happened in my case. I was so excited that I just bashed in my center caps w/ a hammer. No other complaints though...the wheels are awesome!

I did call and left several messages and had no reply. Then I had to go with the emails. I am not an expert on rims and if I SHOULD have known to tell my installer to lube the rings then I agree it is my fault. But, I just have to ask if the "lubing of the center cap" was written somewhere and does eveybody else know about this except for me?
